CRIME AND SOCIAL VIOLENCE AS PROBLEMATIC IN MEXICO
Crime and social violence have become a problem that generates concern. In Mexico, more precisely, crime is among the main problems of the country where violence is manifested in robberies, assaults, kidnappings, and what is more serious, in murders that every day destroy human lives and fill with pain to pain to pain tofamilies and whole society. In case it was not enough, the impunity and lack of participation of citizens, they do not strengthen the situation.
Given this situation, the life of the inhabitants has been serious affected, fear and anger are the feelings that have come remain among citizens who are already afraid of crime.
The fear of crime is not an exclusive of the victims, but it is also a feeling shared by people who have not been victims of crime, which has led society to assume negative behaviors;Linchaments "in self-defense" are the reflection of the fear and insecurity that exists in the inhabitants of Mexico.
Crime is an aspect of social violence;Therefore, a population of Mexico wants security, but another part, distrustful of police forces, since there are a large number of bodies of security forces that are unfortunately under the control of organized crime. "Security forces fail to reduce crime rates. Police bodies are harassed by politicians who drive them and demand efficiency;by the population, which demands the end of corruption ”. (Benítez, 2009)
(Benítez, 2009) and as well as common crime constitutes the main threat to the population, drug trafficking is the main threat. Drug trafficking is a phenomenon with a long history in Mexico in its variables of production, traffic and marijuana consumption. But what transformed drug trafficking into a high -impact crime, with increasing social repercussion, was the incorporation of the country into the cocaine traffic routes from the Andes. Although the beginning of this process dates from the 1970s, it was from the 90s, with the dismantling of the great Colombian posters of Medellín and Cali, when Mexican narcos organizations began to consolid.
Crime grows, security is endangered and victims are increased. All, the cities have hours every day, when it is too risky to go out. The pull, the razor, can end the stock market and the life of the citizen. Voices of indignation sound. What is not clear is whether what is intended is to end crime or criminals. The first is viable, increasing surveillance, guards, arrests and sanctions and the second requires a deep change of society. Ending criminals is not to end crime. The offender is not born, it is made. And who does the offender?..
