Cognitive Behavior Therapy Name Institution Course Date The article on cognitive behavior therapy provides in-depth analysis on the use of cognitive behavioral therapy in particular for people with schizophrenia for comorbid disorders, secondary social impairment, and primary symptoms of illness as well as for enhancing the effectiveness of any other services and treatment such as vocational and medication support. According to this article guidance in the United Kingdom and the U.S. has incorporated cognitive behavioral therapy as a favorite therapy for psychosis (CBTp). The aim of this analysis is to explore the current CBTp trial effect size that includes both non-targeted and targeted symptoms, methodological rigor effect as well as the mode of action. For meta-analysis of this study, thirty-four CBTp trials were used as a source of data. The data in the public realm was used for investigation and meta-analysis of the special effects related to trial methodology (Wykes, Steel, Everitt, & Tarrier, 2007, p.525). The results got from the analysis indicated that there were inclusive positive effects in particular for the targeted symptoms. The effect size of 0.400 was obtained out of 33 studies with a confidence interval of 95%. 32 studies indicated that there was also a significant effect for positive effects. 23 studies showed negative symptoms (Wykes, Steel, Everitt, & Tarrier, 2007, p. 529). From the results, it is evident that just like any other meta-analyses CBTp had some effects that were beneficial on positive symptoms.
