May 5 is the celebration of the victory of the Battle of Puebla. That is why Puebla, Mexico is the best place to celebrate- is the birthplace of this holiday. However, many people seem to be attracted to Denver, Colorado, the largest celebration of May 5 with 400.000 people. San Diego, California continues with a quarter of those numbers, but is full of Spanish life and culture. Each one celebrates May 5 in its own way.
The best place to go for May 5 is Puebla, Mexico. The battle of Puebla in 1862 was the birth of May 5, and the city has many historical artifacts. Treating May 5 as an important holiday, the city closes. They celebrate with a recreation of the battle and a military parade, as well as several other events in the previous days. After each celebration there is food, drink, and music. Some recommended places to visit in the city are the forts of Loreto and The Historic Passage of May 5. Some recommended tours of $ 25- $ 50 include the "Puebla and Cholula Full-Day Tour from Mexico City" and the "Puebla City Walking Tour".
In Denver, Colorado can find the greatest celebration of May 5, although it is not in Mexico! The celebration hosts more than 400,000 people and lasts 2 days. That occurs at the Civic Center Park, IT includes parades and carnival walks, but the thing would be more out of is the contest to eat tacos!Perhaps the most strangest tradition practiced is the Chihuahua race- it is what it seems. For music there are live bands and dance performances, with 9 performances every day. For food it is said that there are more than 350 food vendors, serving anything, from tacos to Chile.
In San Diego, California can be held with more than 100,000 people for May 5. The celebration, which had previously been a weekend event, now covers 3 days of May 4-6. Taking place at the Old Town San Diego Historical Park there is food, drink, and music of Spanish culture. For music they have live bands, dance performances, and gypsy swing bands in 2-4 stadiums, varying per day. For entertainment you can see the “folk ballet’, wrestling, ‘lowrider lane” shows. For children, they have poni walks and pet zoos. The celebration is fun for all ages!
The three places celebrate with 100,000 or more people. Puebla, Mexico, in my opinion, is the best place to celebrate, since it is where the holidays began. Denver, Colorado, is the largest celebration in May 5 and houses more than 400,000 people. The celebration of San Diego, California, is reliving with all kinds of Spanish culture. In general, each one celebrates May 5 in its own way, and each one is wonderful in their own way!
