Child labor, a problem of society
Child labor is contemplated with one of the most serious social problems worldwide, Ecuador seeks solutions to it in its territory. Child labor is a worldwide problem that is mainly characterized by involving children and adolescents in job occupations not suitable for their age. The minimum age to perform a trade is 18 years, however, many infants are carried out for different reasons neglecting their physical, cognitive and psychological development since by dedicating their life to work they do not have the time to play, pass with their familyor friends;nor study, in many cases because they do not have the resources to do so. The International Labor Organization explains that all that activity or work that deprives the children of their childhood, their potential and dignity is considered child labor.
It is pointed out that approximately 73 million children are in a risk of risky child. Ecuador has fewer cases compared to other Latin American countries, the child population whose age is between 5 and 17 years that is working represented around 5.19% at the national level in 2017, the country has decreased their figures in six years of fighting child labor according to INEC data. According to research, it has been shown that there is a strong relationship between the economic insufficiency of homes and the work of children being one of the reasons that lead to the need to obtain a job with a salary that solvent basic expenses contributing to the economyfamiliar, although not always achieved enough difficult to have many things such as food, clothing, housing, health and access to education. Another cause for many minors are obliged to work is when they are alone, that is, they do not have a family, representative or adult who takes care of them therefore they have to look for a job to survive. As for the trades that are most frequently done in factories and industries that seek cheap labor, other children work in agriculture, in the streets as street vendors in the bus stations, traffic lights, parks or placescrowded, or even in mining with work that cope with great risks for their lives.
Among the consequences of child labor are health problems (exhaustion, injuries, skin problems), the lack of time to play, study, pass with their friends, the existence of child abuse in their jobs, badconditions in which they work and the bad salaries they receive. President Lenin Moreno analyzed this June 12, 2019 the government plan to suppress child labor in Ecuador. Considering that for children and young people going to school empowers them as opportunities for a better future, it helps them improve social relationships and allows them to continue their childhood that is the most important thing. The goal of the ministerial team is to reach 2.4%, the National Secretariat of Communication (SECOM) reported, considering this objective within the National Strategy for Progressive Reduction of Child and Adolescent Labor. Within the eradication of child labor, the country proposes through a set of force and forceful actions that face the causes and effects from a perspective of responsibility and commitment to Ecuadorian society to restore the rights of children and adolescents under conditions ofChild labor.
Government strategies promote labor inspections by PETI analysts (eradication project of child labor) to analyze cases based on the rights protection systems of adolescents over 15 years and children to carry out aDiscourse from children and adolescents in child labor through inter -institutional brigades, within these established regimes, authorities of the Ministries of Economic and Social Inclusion, Education, Health, National Directorate of Specialized Police for Children and Adolescents (Dinapen) intervene (Dinapen), Cantonal Councils for the Protection of Rights, Cantonal Boards for the Protection of Children and Adolescents, Municipal Decentralized Autonomous Governments.
In conclusion, it is necessary to continue in the fight against the violations of the rights of children and adolescents with the purpose that all people have a dignified life from their childhood to achieve a prosperous future and become citizens who exerciseresponsibly your rights and duties with equality within your society.
