Characteristics and importance of interpersonal communication
Introduction
In the following work, the concept of communication will be developed mainly by summarizing as coherent as possible the issues addressed in the first unit of the interpersonal communication subject, remembering that communication is based on a process of conscious interaction between two or more people, which whichIt consists of different levels, functions, approaches and characteristics that are involved in this broad concept.
A good and fluid interpersonal communication will be the basis of a good relationship between human beings since without communication there would be many types of conflicts in every environment, be schools, work, family environment.
It is undeniable that conflicts occur in every environment since each one has different opinions on different topics but if we all develop our interpersonal communication capacity with respect, all kinds of conflicts could be reconciled.
Developing
Communication is currently in everything that happens around us so much in our work world, our family life, moments of recreation, which has become a fundamental component in our lives.
Interpersonal communication is understood as the environment where human relations with greater magnitude and energy originate, this being the most real communication between people since we are unique live contact between them, so that interpersonal communication is effectiveThey use various communication channels and can be oral, visual, gesture, etc.. Since each of the above finally, in this type of communication, is interpreted through all the senses: view, hearing, smell, taste and touch.
Interpersonal communication has varied characteristics among which I can name some of the most important:
It has an interaction between sender and receiver, feeds in the form of action and reaction, which we participate in the communication are active participants, in general it is a direct and non -verbal exchange exchange between two or more people between two or more people.
The importance of semiotics (study of symbols) in interpersonal communication will be that each scope of this field represents something specific with its own messages of emission of messages from super simple levels to the most complex, absolutely everything communicates since every act ofCommunicate contains some meaning and a structure composed of implicit or explicit codes and messages depending on its form of presentation and different ways of expressing it. The analysis of the signs, whether codes, languages or signals is very important in communication because we have an objective that is to interpret our around, since we live surrounded by signs such as signage, traffic lights, posters, etc., we also imply with gestures, silences and many other codes so that the receiver understands and interprets what we are communicating at that time.As is a process that is based on an exchange of ideas, feelings, emotions and attitudes it will be essential to understand that the most important thing is what the receiver understands, not necessarily what the issuer says.
To have a good interpersonal communication application, it must first have a developed intrapersonal communication that is understood as the present communication that we exercise with oneself, the same person being issuer and receiver.
We apply this type of communication every time we reflect, think or when we alone with a spirit in front of any situation to achieve some objective or simply to meet ourselves from different perspectives, usually interpersonal communication are the thoughts we haveWith ourselves during the day and the decisions we made about it speaking into our being.
Intrapersonal and interpersonal communication are inserted within the five levels that exist in communication and that influence our daily living being each of them extremely related to each other, these levels are:
- Intrapersonal communication: perhaps the most important of all and that is why located first, before all others, since it speaks of communication with ourselves in order to analyze, recognize ourselves, reflecting but mainly knowing ourselves, in this way we will be capableto achieve good communication with others.
- Interpersonal Communication: As described above, it is the communication process which relates an exchange between two or more people being the main objective, mutual interest and possibilities of future interactions.
- Group communication: It is understood as the communication process that is generated within a limited group of people for example in a classroom, family or friends meetings and can be formally or informally, the themes can be varied and diverse trying toreach degrees of empathy among those present.
- Corporate Communication: This type of communication is established within an institution or in the work environment of a company or organization, which is planned in two stages: internal and external. Regarding internal communication, the idea is to promote efficient communication channels between employees, workers, suppliers, vendors, etc.. While external communication is how the company is projected towards others through a corporate image through social networks, mass media advertising, etc ..
- Social or medial communication: It is established through mass media aimed at large audiences with the aim of informing, entertaining or as we see currently in the country to influence a society ideologically according to the convenience of the convenience of the convenience of the convenience oflarge groups.

Another function of communication is the regulation which is responsible for regulating people’s behavior to be able to insert ourselves in the environment in which we are communicating.

In relation to the interactional approach, it is understood that communication is systemic, it is a circular process that always occurs in a given and emitter and receiver context where an interaction between both communicative parties develops.
Functional language is basically where concepts are developed such as being timely, consistent, direct and complete. Understanding that this communication is based on having a feedback that is always positively eliminating the possibility of inferring any damage to others with our words. For example, when advice is given to a child or any person with the intention of expressing our point of view.
Existential language refers to the language of the individual as it is as human being, where each of their life experiences, feelings, thoughts are transmitted in their countenance and in their way of communicating. Being the person himself a message at the same time together with his language. For example, a prisoner in a high complexity prison will probably have a very different attitude than that of a woman who has not had great difficulties in her life and that is demonstrated in the countenance of each.
To get to the definition of communication, its levels, functions and characteristics that we currently know as such contributions, different communication models and many authors such as Harold Laswell, Shanon and Weaver, Schram, Jakobson, Maletzke, among many others thatThey tried to explain their vision of communication in one way or another.
From very early during the last century it was tried. Then they managed to capture the presence of different codes which have been used in different environments and disciplines. Each of the authors contributed to the development of what we finally know as interpersonal communication in a continuous search to want to interact and transmit what we want at some time determined in different types of environments.

Interpersonal communication goes far beyond being a simple conversation between two or more people, it is a complex process where many factors, characteristics, symbols, codes that cannot be ignored because as a whole it is what we call communication is involved. In everything we do, even what we think is to insert communication, although it is true when listening to the word communication we relate it to an oral or written language but the truth is that it goes further than that because many times with a simple look,silence or gesture we are communicating our way of thinking, making us understand towards others.
Finally, communication in my opinion is the fundamental key to our development and healthy coexistence with others.
