The war of 1812 majorly involved the United States and the Great Britain. The conflict arose from the fact that America needed to expand its territory and trade restriction imposed by Great Britain against the US. Americans believed their rights were being violated which necessitated them to attack Britain. The paper seeks to focus on the specific reasons that contributed to the war of 1812 between the United States and Great Britain. The conflict between the Great Britain and the United States was as a result of persistent bitterness and rivalry between the Great Britain with France’s Napoleon Bonaparte. Great Britain made efforts to prevent France from trading with the United States. To achieve this, it intended to cut off the supplies of ammunition and logistical support from entering France (Heidler and Heidler 183). Since this action of the Britain would lead to an adverse impact on the American economy, America was ready to fight for their right to engage with France, this stimulated the 1812 war. Britain had a long-term goal of creating a settlement for American Indians by acquiring land in the Northwest states; this would further cause a conflict between the two nations. Indian raids strived to block America dominance in the Northwest states Wisconsin, Ohio, and Michigan. British Military offered them support by supported countering America expansion (Nester 59).
