Analysis of the first round to the world of Magallanes and Elcano explorers
Last Friday we attend two conferences from a seminar on the relationship of the first return to the world of Femando Magallanes and Juan Sebastián Elcano and the relationship that can be established with literature.
The first presentation "From this to west and west to this: communication and literature: Iberian perspectives (XV-XVI centuries)" By Professor Tomás Abadalejo, it dealt with the importance of literature bought to analyze this event through literary works this eventHistoric made by a Portuguese and a Spaniard, literary texts of the Hernán Cortes expedition are also mentioned in Mexico.
In order to compare works of both literatures whose purpose is to have a deeper knowledge about the historical event, it is necessary to analyze the importance of the use of both Spanish and Portuguese language in the elaboration of literary texts. The study of both languages gives us information about their literature, the way of narrating events and a new way of analyzing the trip made at that time.

Sources that provide us with a vision of how these expeditions were from a different point of view from the Spanish perspective and from the Portuguese perspective.
It is obvious that the perspective is not the same depending on the national situation of these different nations.
It should be noted that the knowledge of the languages of the main historical figures is important for this analysis. For example, Vasco da Gama only knew his mother tongue, the Portuguese so his way of observing the Hindus when they found themselves varies. So figures that knew the languages of places they arrived were key. For example, Hernán Cortés that only Spanish knew how.
The second presentation entitled "Reace/ re -enclose the circumnavigation reflections from Pigafetta (1990) by Felicitas Hoppe" by Professor Orlando Grossegesse of the University of Miho. In this second part he talked about a book related to the return to the world. The book written by Felicitas Hoppe about the Pigafetta explorer.
Pigafetta was an Italian explorer who made important expeditions such as that he was part of the expedition made by Magallanes and Elcano. His stories are the main source of information so it is an interesting source of which the author, Felicitas Hoppe writes a book about her sources and others more analyzing them with depth.
Throughout the presentation compares the texts written by Pigafta during his expeditions and other related texts of the time with the book written by the German author who is the main one that is around where the entire conference turned.
As a personal opinion, it has been very interesting to see the relationship and comparison that can be established between literary works with historical facts such as the first round of the world. Despite not having much prior knowledge about these issues, it has been very interesting and enriching presentations in the way of seeing these events.
