Analysis of Ethics in Science and Technology
Science can be seen as a cause of the progress of societies because science makes discoveries and advances which cause society to improve in some way or another making individuals of that society have a longer and more efficient life than whatThey would have without science. Science progresses in many aspects including medicine, manufacturing, sports, food among many other things, each of these makes society better than it was more before, however, science can also make progress decrease or even go backSince science can also be used for worse, a clear example of this are nuclear weapons;Nuclear weapons are probably the most destructive weapons instantly but also leave an uninhabitable territory for some time. In conclusion, science can make a society advance in an incredible way and that thanks to science we become the most successful species in the world, however, the same science that makes us move forward can and possibly our destruction is.
The human being where I know is the only species that understands how things work thanks to something we develop called science, science is something which we use every day and sometimes we do not notice it, that the scientific method that is one which is one of whichWe use many times to decide the things of our daily life, thanks to science, humans are where they are, thanks to science, societies have advanced incredibly quickly in the last 200 ~ years (since the beginning of the industrial revolution) inThis period has helped us to achieve great advances in technology by leaving us for example communicating without limits throughout the planet, or for example we can travel around the earth in just days. Technology is the application of science, science is the mother of technology.
In a perfect world advances in technology would be controlled by ethics
Sadly in our imperfect world it is not so, advances in technology are often bad for most people but benefit a minority generally economically, or we can also see, for example, in medicine you can many times you can see everythingThe opposite of something ethical when new medications and treatments are tested many times using generally animal living specimens which are possibly going to die, although technology is not guided by ethics this means that all advances in technology do not have theEthics in mind, many of the technological advances are based on ethics seeking the good of living beings avoiding harming anyone.
Medicine is directly related to ethics, starting with the Hippocratic oath that every person makes by becoming a doctor, has 4 principles, principle of non -maleficence: this principle says that the patient will be preserved of all evil. Then that the benefice principle that says that the patient will always look for good. This is the principle of autonomy that says that the patient has the right to decide if treatment is applied and which one who wants, if he is not in a position to decide the closest person to him will have the decision. The last principle is of justice that mentions that medicine is given equal to low -income people as high -level people, there are no preferences and the same is had for everyone. In summary, medicine and ethics are related because when it comes to human beings there is dignity, that every person has the simple fact of being a person and is something inherent in this being, decisions regardingEthics and from my point of view, a doctor who violates this dignity for example one that practices abortions does not deserve to be a doctor.
Bioethics originates in 1927 by the German philosophy Fritz Jahr, bioethics is a branch of ethics which specializes in analyzing the behavior of the human being with respect to life, bioethics has been a branch which has beenVery important in history making scientists see what is right according to science and with respect to the methods used for their studies. Nowadays, bioethics is still quite relevant only that people are beginning to give the same and are seeing in the vessel of others and from here comes the abortion that today is an aspect highly discussed by society andWe can see how bioethics remains relevant in this issue only that many people are ignored when science perfectly says and proves that this goes against human ethics.
The life of a person cannot be decided by another person, that is to play to be God and it is not very ethical because for example, killing a person so that he does not suffer is called euthanasia, this is something practiced in medicine what lowhich is completely incorrect and this medical decision is being seen with greater value than the life of a person. The life of a person is the greatest gift of all and deciding on a person is something that does not touch people but it touches God a person has no more value than another and no decision about a person is going tohave more value than the life of the other. That is why euthanasia, distance and abortion are things that in the eyes of ethics and bioethics are incorrect and these are which from my point of view and I reiterate it: the "doctors" who do these procedures do not deserve to be called doctors even ifYou have your diplomas, a role does not prove anything when a person has no honor.
