An expanding universe according to DR. Luis Rodriguez

The book makes us doubt what the universe is actually, makes the image we have of "universe" change completely, since we talk about this from the religious perspective or from the perspective of science. We are currently in a universe that expands continuously where our planet is insignificant in size and our solar system is just a grain of tiny sand compared to the immense size of the universe of which we only know so far that four percent of thisIt is ordinary matter and the remaining ninety -six percent is a dark matter that until now we do not know what is exactly.

The first thing that Luis F tried. Rodriguez in the book was to break the idea that the human being is superior to everything that exists, for this he relies with the idea that the earth is an insignificant planet with nothing that makes it special and also supports some othersData such as: The star that is the closest this is the sun with more than ninety -nine percent of the mass that exists in our system, just being a "medium" star that orbit on the banks of the Milky Way, a galaxy of formflat and that is made up of endless stars.

A second idea that the author shares with us is that the universe is always evolving and expanding, but the change is not very noticeable since the changes are generated at a very slow speed, a very clear example in the book is birth and deathof a star or also known in a scientific way as "planetary nebula". A star is similar to a living being since they are born, mature, age and after many millions of years die.

There are three possible deaths for a star:

  • Red giant: if the star is light, after its maturity the star has an increase in diameter, this can increase a hundred times more its size to the original.
  • White dwarfs: after being a red giant, the star begins to experience a shrink stage until it gets the diameter equal or similar to that of the earth. When passing through this stage as well as its size also its nuclear energy, its temperature begins to decrease and its light goes off little by little.
  • If the star is heavy, when the star is left without nuclear fuel. After collapsing the star begins to become a black hole, absorbing everything that has close.

In the book you can learn in a few chapters about what is actually a galaxy and the characteristics of the galaxy in which we live. The doctor. Luis f. Rodríguez shares several ideas in the book, a very interesting is how our galaxy describes. He describes it as an immense album full of stars, gas and something very similar to dust, all this revolving around the center of the Milky Way, with this description we can say that the set of stars is similar to a band of light. This band of light is what Roman astronomers named "Milky Way".

The Milky Way is not the only galaxy in the universe, throughout the universe there are millions and millions of galaxies and there are several types of galaxies:

  • Elliptic galaxy: it has an almost ellipsoidal shape and has distinctive features such as that it lacks spiral arms, etc.
  • Spiral galaxy: it has a disk and is flat and is made up of gas, dust and young stars.
  • Lenticular galaxy: it is a type of galaxy that resembles elliptical and spiral galaxies, which is why it is known as an intermediate galaxy to these two. The types of previous galaxies are classified within the "hubble sequence". The Hubble sequence was created by Edwin Hubble in 1936. The galaxies are classified by form, mass (solar masses), luminosity (solar luminosity), diameter (KPC) and stellar population
  • Irregular galaxies: This type of galaxy does not fit with the Hubble sequence because this type of galaxy has no shape, most of them that are known so far are small and their shape is distorted thanks to the seriousness of another neighboring galaxy withlarger size.

The doctor. Rodríguez also writes in his book near the Big Bang or the great explosion, this event was the beginning of everything we know so far. Before the explosion there was nothing, only a colossal amount of compacted energy at some point in the universe. One day the universe began to warm up and this accumulated energy also, energy could not endure more heat around it then was released causing a great explosion that gave rise to everything known to this day. After the explosion the universe cooled so much that it gave way to everything that the explosion had triggered the stars, planets, galaxies, etc. But for this to happen, it had to spend a lot of time since after the explosion there were several clouds full of sub -atomic particles that formed atoms and over time when the universe is too cooling, these monumental clouds joined each other with another thanksto gravity and thus began the formation of the aforementioned.

Thanks to this great event today there is a sea of stars in the sky and billions of planets and today we are fortunate to be able to inhabit one, but also thanks to this event the scientist Edwin Hubble says that the galaxia are separatingOne more and more over time, today with recent studies it is confirmed what Edwin Hubble said, thanks to the supernovas the expansion of the universe is accelerating, the acceleration of this is also thanks to dark energy also.

The dark energy is present in the whole space and it is some type of energy that produces some pressure that makes the universe expand and the galaxies are moving away from each other, in other words, the dark energy generates a reaction of repulsionthat is generating the aforementioned.
