The social worker in different areas
The social worker in the educational field
The incursion of social workers in education centers since it has a broader vision of events to the extent that globalization covered by countless characteristic elements linked to education (Ortuño and Muñoz, 2018). The social worker who performs specific functions within an educational center is characterized by ties with students, parents, teachers and administrative. This interaction is given because social workers have unique qualities, among which are “trained so that they can help with mental health problems, behavioral problems, positive behavioral support, academic support and in the classroom” (Errazu, Romeaand fisherman, 2019, p.13). In other words, these professionals have the ability to contribute to the quality of life of all involved in school environments.
In this way, it is possible to get a success model within the educational units taking into account several specific aspects such as strength personal development each student;Another important aspect is to specify disagreements to provide wisdom and remedy the conflict (Romero-de la Cruz and López-Mero, 2020).
In addition, the social worker performs other functions within the education sector. So according to Ortuño and Muñoz (2018) these functions are:
Attend in the preparation of the educational projects of centers, especially in relation to the sociocultural conditions of the environment and the social and family aspects of the school students. In addition to providing information and guidance to parents within the scope of their functions and the exercise of "parentality". It also has the power to provide the educational center with the necessary information on the existing resources in the community, as well as on educational and social needs, which enable adequate educational planning (P. 382-383).
The social worker in the family field
The relationship that social work professional has with the fundamental pillar of society that is the family, is very transcendental. This occurs because it is the entity that has the responsibility of advising the individuals involved to be responsible for their failures and virtues of each person. So that these are able to focus on all those positive qualities that it has and manage. However, if the participation carried out by the specialist in the field of social work is taken into account, the main role that it develops is the creation of tactics which significantly favor each of the problems that each person can findof the family nucleus (Agurto and Lezbeth, 2019).
In other words, according to Sánchez Rojas (2019):
The social work professional within the family field fulfills the function of making social diagnoses, the same ones that take into account the social context in which all family members coexist especially focusing on children, being the most vulnerableWithin a family structure, observing the problem not only internally but also externally from a much broader context, thus facilitating the different positions that lead to this scenario (P.12).
Therefore, the mediation present by social workers seeks to eliminate those limitations that afflict him or those involved, but also have to be ready to share measures that have the purpose of suppressing the inconveniences that may occur at any time. In this way, it is possible that an active participation by social workers has to comply with “the promotion and respect for human rights, since both the profession and human rights are strongly opposed to a violation of thesame ”(Ocampo Ramirez, 2020, P. 44).
However, it is necessary to understand that social workers are not only involved in acts where a mediation or rehabilitation process within families is needed. Since this is part of the adoption processes in which it has the ability to perform joint tasks with intervention different professionals in the area. But it should be noted that the different professionals in the area develop activities that have the purpose of preventing the quality of life of the infant involved in the adoption process (Ocampo Ramirez, 2020, P. 44).
