Freedom and its risks in our time
To start, I consider that for Michel Focault freedom "… is the ontological condition of ethics. But ethics is the reflected form that takes freedom.”, Now, I consider that this situation operates in the subject from the human nature and the origin of the State, in this regard Aristotle that:“ When several villages join in a complete and unique enough community to be self-sufficient,The State arises, originating in the mere needs of life, and its existence continues so that it is better, therefore, if the earliest forms of society are natural, it is also the State, which is its consequence or end, andThe nature of a thing is its end."" Therefore, it is evident that the State is the creation of nature and that man is in his virtue a political animal.”(Giner, Salvador 1975), in effect the human being is an individual who by his nature is a social being, being the need to subsist the first form of meeting and when subsistence is fold or guaranteed, the human being creates theState as a political entity, and this is the one who guarantees the human right to freedom, so the human being is a political animal.
Now, Michel Foucault reports that “the analyzes I try to do essentially about power relations. I understand why something different from the states of domination. Power relationships have an extremely large extension in human relations. Now, this does not mean that political power is everywhere, but, in human relations there is a whole beam of power relations, which can be exercised among individuals, within a family, in a pedagogical relationship, in the political body. This analysis of power relations constitutes an extremely complex field; He sometimes finds that the facts, or states of domination can be called, in which power relations, instead of being mobile and allowing different members to modify them, are blocked and fixed."Indeed in all human interactions there are power relations, which can be worked harmoniously although their treatment is extremely complex due to the characteristics of individuals, however, when these power relationships are static, states of domination becomeindividuals, dangerous situation because then we can be facing the presence of the violation of the individual’s freedom.
However, as can be noticed from the two previous paragraphs, there are two different concepts of freedom one supported by the political idea of the State and seen as a right; And the other that is carried out through power relations between individuals, in my opinion is in the second in which Michel Foucault is supported to be able to define freedom not as a right but as an ontological condition of ethics
On the other hand, with respect to the second question I consider that Michel Foucault explains the risk of freedom as follows, man as a social being is in the paradox of being oppressive of his own genre through the power relations thatThere are among the members of the community, where freedom can be considered as liberation, however when these power relations become a state of domination, freedom is lost or suppressed.
Now, bioethics regarding self-care is understood as “as an ethic of care and others; It must lead the reflection of new principles and values according to the problems that threaten the lives of humans today. This ethical reflection is understood by Foucault, as the reflexive practice of freedom, freedom that is not conceived in terms of law, but as the ontological condition of ethics, freedom that implies knowing.”(Garcés Giraldo 2013). Indeed, bioethics must be understood in its broader way as the care of the individual itself through the reflective analysis that the person does, and that originates the dialectic of distinguishing the good and the bad in relation to their previous knowledgeacquired either in the family or in your case in your academic or cultural development.
To conclude, freedom is philosophically for the individual’s opportunity to be able I work listening to radio and I can realize that there is an increase in criminal social phenomena such as robberies, injuries, homicides or violations, and I reflect on the causes that originate these incidents, and I conclude that these are caused by various factors, one of them is The lack of economic resources, but I consider that this is the least, since when I am in class with my students I can notice a great loss of values, that is why I consider it of great importance that the teacher reflects on these issues and that above all make students reflect on the importance of ethics and values, since in my opinion a human being that reflects on their environment It is competent to be a good citizen and that is what our society needs.
