The Haunted House: Aspect and Operation
Introduction
This document details aspects, the concept and functioning of the H Casa H that was designed by the architect Felipe Assadi, in 2018, has an area of 340m², consists of a concrete structure, which is onA slope in Zapallar, Chile, in a summer area. The architect Felipe Assadi was based on the concept of living the structure. The architect focuses on the views he can achieve, and on the slope. The basis of this project was a structural proposal and the architect focused more on the concept, than in responding to certain conditions or program with respect to this he began to focus on what he should do with the spaces, the form, such as theI was going to divide without changing his concept that he already had well defined and will result.
Developing
Felipe Assadi wanted to break with the traditional, first wanted the house to be a place just to hang out in certain seasons, but in the final I decide that he wanted him to become a habitual residence. The house is a structural piece that developed from north to south longitudinally, began its project from top to bottom with two reinforced concrete beams of 1.40 meters high by 41 meters long, ranging from north to south, these beamsThey rest on four interior load walls.
The house is made up of transverse and longitudinal beams that work together to generate a single piece set. These horizontal surfaces come into contact with the base that is half buried, where guest rooms are located on the ground floor. Its structure is reinforced concrete, the blasting that occurs on the slope of the land that falls towards the sea is noticeable, the blankets can be up to 7 meters and this makes the views of the house towards the sea favors.
The cover is just a concrete slab and the two longitudinal beams stand out in the house profile. The main structure of the house is held in two huge beams that include the length of the ceiling and the first floor. This type of structure allows the ends of the building to unfold meters beyond the main structure, allowing covered terraces.
The architect used concrete because that type of material softens the impact of the structure on the landscape and goes with the environment generating a harmony. It is a structural piece, geometry, the material is what the architect uses to soften the visual impact of the building with the environment, mixing it with the natural slope, without contrasting it much to it
Concept
The concept of this project is the structural thing that is the element that defines it, since the architect wanted to rely on this to generate his work, it can be noted that the concept highlights by itself in the house, in itself it is super clear what it isThe concept that wants to give, also what this work shows is the condition of being on the slope and coupling it, giving an approach like levitation of the house, the outer space flows under the house which helps more to thisapproach.
It is surrounded by mountains and a lotUnder the top floor.
The house allows the entrance of natural light to the entrance of the common areas and in the main bedroom, since it has large sliding glass doors, it also allows the view towards vegetation and sea, in the sea, in the sea, in theoutside the pool and terraces are located.
Function
It fulfills its function very well, since the spaces, even if they are merged, is well understood as far as each area reaches, the distribution of the spaces are correctly located, since they have an easy circulation and understanding of each area. The main entrance allows you to enter common areas such as the room, the dining room and kitchen, which is the essence, it also meets the purpose of the architect of the views that from any area of the house can be seen the sunset and the ocean,and to focus on the essential.
One side gives access to the house and the other looks towards the sea. The long facade that gives the access road and the mountains has small openings, is much more closed to provide privacy to the family, its wall is of great thickness at the same time is also a wooden furniture, which runs through the entire house, serving each area according to its use, we put together the main facade of the construction, compared to the facade that gives the ocean that is almost entirely glazed.
The architect’s design is that where the entrance is the common areas, in a single space, without columns, walls, on the upper floor it is only divided by a wall the main bedroom and the bathroom, since privacy is needed,On the ground floor the entrance gives a family hall and from there the bedrooms.
conclusion
The house is made up of two levels placed structurally by the geography of the land. On the ground floor there is a living room and three bedrooms, which are accessed by a ladder near the pool. On the upper floor there is a more open plan, there are common areas that include a dining room, a living room, a kitchen.
Also a bedroom that is located at the other end of the common areas and has its own outdoor area. Access to the upper floor can also be given by a ramp. The interior of the upper floor is simple, there are not many walls that limit the spaces, but they are also defined very well, it is an essential architecture. The pool seems to be in the air, is located at one end of the house, perpendicular to it.
There is a patio from east to west that is under the main structure, the ladder and the ramp reach it, this patio makes the idea that the house is floating on the site is reinforced. This research work helps to learn more about a topic is the best way to deepen and learn.
