Name Course Date Gender Inequality The segregation between male and female gender continues to affect the relationship between the two groups and that is the reason for the rise of divorce cases in the US as a result of at least one member feeling undermined or/and mistreated. In order to unify both the male and female in the society in terms of equitable treatment and harmonies existence there is need to understand and the different treatments that the members of these two groups are subjected to base on their sex. Gender inequality is the treatment of a specific gender as inferior and subjugating its members to uneven treatment in relation to opportunities, a chance to speak out and even the way they relate. This inequality has sufficed for a long time. Traditionally women were involved in roles around the house leaving the men with roles of providing, protecting and leading (Longe, 2016). There are behavioral expectations that are dependent on gender. There is a way men are expected to behave differently from women. Currently, the trends are changing and women are beginning to step out of the cocoon of being the weaker gender. The main solution to this issue is a change of perception towards stereotyping and the notion of the existence of a weaker gender by creating awareness, campaigns, and education for both genders on the issue of gender equality. Other solutions include affirmative action and limitation of gender-based selections like jobs and schools. Affirmative action is where there are equal representation and opportunities for both genders in workplaces, planning and decision making (Lerner K., Lerner B., & Lerner A. 2006). However, this
