Use, stages and voice management

It can be said that the human voice is produced by the air by the air, which, after a series of modifications they become words or songs. The air passing between the vocal cords makes them vibrate producing a sound, which will be more acute or more serious depending on the tension to which they are subjected. This sound will be expanded as it passes through the resonance cavities, which are formed by all those structures located above the vocal cords. The main resonators will be the mouth or oral cavity, in which the sound is articulated through the tongue and lips becoming language, and the nasal cavity, which will resonate the nasal sounds. The voice consists of 5 stages

  1. Psychic stage This stage designated the life of the individual, together with his body in life and detached from this after his death. It becomes the designation of all the processes and phenomena that make the human mind as a unit
  2. Respiratory stage Breathing is the physical basis of the voice. With the exhaled air that comes back from the lungs, the vocal strings vibrate. This air column must be continuous and strong enough to produce a good voice.
  3. Phonatory stage in the inside of the larynx are the vocal strings. Those two muscles groups approach, tense and vibrate to produce sound. This sound is rudimentary and is not communicative.
  4. Resonantic stage consists in the extension of the sound that formed in the previous stage, in some cavities of the face and skull, which are called resonance cavities
  5. Articulatory stage. It is the formation of speech phonemes or phonemes. The phonemes are the minimum sound units of a language. In Spanish there are vocal and consonant phonemes.

The occlusive or explosive sounds are formed completely blocking the air flow and letting it out later, with a small breath or explosion of the air. Stop or occlusive sounds are P, B, T, D, K, G.

  • The fricative sounds are formed by letting the air out through partially closed articulators (the word "fricative" derives from "friction"). The fricative sounds are S, Z, F, and, J.
  • Africaded sounds result from the combination of an occlusive sound and a fricative sound. The African sound is cho.
  • Nasal sounds are sounds in which the air flow comes out through the nose. The nasal sounds are m, n and ñ
  • The side sounds are formed by letting out the air flow through the sides of the mouth. They are the sound L and ll
  • The vibrant sounds are those produced by intermittent interruptions of the sound air, by a series of vibrations of the tongue of the tongue. They are the R and the RR.

The voice of man is different from that of women, because their phoning systems have a differentiated development during puberty. The woman’s is more acute, however to that of men is more serious due to the thickest vocal cords.

The diction

The domain of the diction consists of the correct knowledge of the words (linguistic competence and lexical heritage) and its correct pronunciation (prosody). The diction referred to the voice is the way to pronounce words, adequate breathing; The appropriate position of the language

Teaching professionals The quality of the voice usually improves when they learn to properly use the speech organs. There are two factors – air volume control. The best results are achieved by maintaining an adequate air volume and controlling the breathing well. If not the voice sounds weak and the broken speech. The widest zone of the lungs is not at the top of the chest, which seems greater due to shoulder bones, are just above the diaphragm. This muscle is subject to the lower ribs and separates the thoracic cavity from the abdominal.

Personal contribution

The voice is the means by which the words are expressed, it is a fundamental element, and we must take care of it, and use it properly, in many cases in the work environment, the oral expression will be the letter of presentation, since it shows our essence, and also reveals many aspects of our personality, since according to how we use it at that time, we will be showing that part of the nonverbal language that says things about us. That is, if we talk slow and leisurely we will imply that we are a serene person, if on the contrary we speak high and emphatic, it will show us an enthusiastic person, and thus, many more aspects that show us more than we are throughOur voices.

It is important to know that the voice cannot be changed, but improve its modulation or emission range.

The qualities of the same are the tone or height, the bell, the intensity or power and the duration. The tone is related to the frequency of the ropes. The more frequencies the voice will be more acute, less frequently, the voice will be serious. The bell allows you to differentiate, even in the same tone, the voice of a person. The power will allow to know if a sound is strong or weak and the duration is the time that the voice persists.

However, the voice is not used only to communicate, but it can also be used for recreational or artistic purposes, as in the case of song, where it can be disintected in terms of bell, tone and height, as ifIt was a musical instrument.

To avoid the possible pathologies that aggregate the voice, it is convenient to avoid harmful behaviors, for example;Talk abusively when dysphonia, singing or speaking in very noisy places, talking outside the usual voice range is convenient to perform breathing and modulation exercises.
