Use of Solar Energy in Peru

Introduction

We live in a world where the population grows by leaps and bounds and thus the demand for energy is increasingly high. It is very worrying to know that more than 80% of the energy we use daily comes from non -renewable sources despite having a varied source of energies that are.

This is the case of solar energy. Solar energy is a type of renewable energy and one of the most promising due to their infinite potential. As its name already indicates, it comes from the sun and it is estimated that it only has been in life and, even so, it does not even reach half of its existence.

In Latin American countries, such as Peru, little by little it is becoming aware of the great importance of using this type of energies and, although it is not yet used in its entirety, there are at least departments such as Moquegua where the initiative has been taken and They are benefiting from this magnificent proposal.

Developing

According to studies, it is known that the sun gives it, in just 1 hour, all the energy that the world consumes in a year. The problem is that its distribution throughout the earth is uniform, making it a bit of its use. In addition, it should be considered that at night it would not work unless you have a battery that serves as a storage and, in case the sky is cloudy during the day, it would not be very reliable. It should also be noted that a lot of land and a large investment would be needed to achieve it. However, and despite all these inconveniences that may arise, it is known that until 2010 the use of solar energy had increased by 20%.

Focusing on southern America, we find that Peru has the second most expensive energy from all over Latin America, but more worrying that this is expected that in approximately 4 years the energy will be missing in our country.

“In the year 2021 or 2022, all studies, all projections indicate that energy will increase significantly in Peru because this situation of oversuits is over and energy begins to be missing, and when energy is missing we have to put our hands To oil engines. When we take our hand to oil engines, energy rises tremendously price ”. Coronado, Juan (2019)

It is really alarming to find out about the situation that our country is experiencing. Given this, the best alternative is to make use of renewable energy, because in addition to emitting less polluting gases, it turns out to be cheaper and more sustainable.

“Faced with this problem, we find the new renewable energies, which are the so -called unconventional. They are the ones that are transforming the energy world, for example wind and solar from 2009 to date have reduced costs between 90 % solar and 70 % wind. These plants make the rate down the world ". Flores, Luis (2019)

Discussion

We have to know that although the panorama does not turn out to be so encouraging, it has already been working on different projects in order to finish, or at least try to reduce this problem.

There are entities, such as the World WWF World Fund, which have taken the initiative to generate their own energy and thus contribute to the care of the environment in addition to decreasing their expenses.

On average there has been approximately 35% reduction in its consumption; However, something not so positive in this initiative is that there are times of the day when the sun emits a radiation so strong that it exceeds the limit of the estimated, that is, during certain hours more than 100% of its consumption and the rest is simply lost. That this situation occurs is expected since in this case we are only talking about a relatively small plant. But during the last years much larger projects have been developed and a great example of this is Rubí, the largest solar energy plant in all of Peru. Rubí is in the department of Moquegua, exactly in the province of Mariscal Nieto and will be able to generate around 440 GWH that is equivalent to annual consumption of about 350.000 Peruvian homes.

"All those involved participate with great enthusiasm to the rapid evolution of this project, which in a few months will generate the first energy megawatt". Piñeiro, José (2017).

This project consists with a total of 560,880 of solar panels that cover 440 hectares of the Moquegua desert in the km.1, 115 of the Panamericana Sur. Best of all, at the same time it will avoid the annual broadcast of more than 209 thousand tons of CO2. Without a doubt a great contribution to the environment.

“This success was achieved thanks to EGP’s great commitment and all the partners involved. We are very proud of the work that is being carried out ". Ponce, Rodrigo (2017)

Undoubtedly, this is clean energy for a new era and what is most surprising and at the same time joy is that in May of this year, the news was given that Iquitos is one of the places within Peru that has great potential for Being able to develop solar energy generation projects. Elliot Blas (2019) argues: The Government considers that an energy proposal can be made for Iquitos from the side of demand and supply. As for the first, there is room to promote pilot programs of solar roofs in Iquitos, which would begin in public entities; also promote change to LED lamps; and carry out awareness activities in the rational and efficient use of energy.

It is very likely that in some years or months, if possible, we are surprised to know that the construction of a new solar plant in our territory is being carried out in our territory.

"National energy policy promotes the diversification of the electrical matrix with the incorporation of new technologies, friendly with the environment and oriented to achieve universal access to energy". Blas, Elliot (2019)

Conclusions

There is too much technology developed to date and for a long time we have been confident in the energy produced by oil. This made all the energy that nature provided us freely did not take advantage of properly and would be practically forgotten. Today we see how the energy of oil, yes that energy that we think was never going to end, little by little and year after year it is decreasing, it is when we just took importance to the energy that was always there and that went unnoticed.

We know that energy is what moves the world and we are in solar generation, it is a good time to start changing, changing our country, our world. It’s time to bet on the sun.

As we have seen, Peru is one of the many countries that are betting on the natural, so it does not pollute, we are betting on taking care of our environment, and I think that if the appropriate factors are combined, in the government, society and universities, universities, We will achieve great changes that the planet Earth will surely thank us.
