Treaty of Versailles and its meaning in History of Humanity
After reading the articles and answering the questions, I feel that the Weimar Republic, from the beginning was destined to fail. It was destined to fail since from the beginning they were experiencing, that is, it was an attempt of democracy whose seed was planted in a moment of chaos after the war, given the socio-economic and historical conditions in which it was created, theProbabilities that this republic flourished were very few;A seed that grew surrounded by problems and could not flourish due to the difficulties that always stalked it. I think that the faced problems were never handled with the clarity and strength necessary to make the best decisions. Not only the communists but also the right -wing extremists wanted to overthrow them so it was impossible for the RepublicPolarization. Because all these extremist parties were created, I believe that politics was increasing. Likewise, the Republic was seen in a great dilemma in front of Versailles’s treaty and although it is unquestionable that this treaty affected the economy of the country, it also affected the relationship between the Republic and the civilians because from that moment they were highly unpopular by theirdecision;a decision in which they were between the sword and the wall.
In the case of hyperinflation, I feel that this crisis was almost the only thing that could happen since the Republic had no escape after the treaty, whose limitations and prohibitions began the route of sinking Germany. Although the country was already bad economically, external problems affected it more;This shows history as a series of chained events. For example, the Versailles treaty affected the economy, then the great depression arrived and unable to invest in its own economy, hyperinflation continued to increase, because they could not pay repairs, countries charged them with natural resources and territories,So the workers where they had invited themselves and the country had to print more tickets to pay them like this causing more hyperinflation. I think this republic failed the pressure of other countries. For the impediments and barriers that were imposed, they were condemned to suffer economic hyperinflation because of others;Without these impediments inflation would not have been so high.
Finally, I think that Versailles’s treaty was counterproductive to the other countries, since by falling to Germany to such a low point, Germans could easily be manipulated by a leader who made such desirable promises. In a moment of such poverty, people wanted a change for what the Nazis and Hitler went up to power and nobody knew that this was the first event of a new war, the most bloody war in history.
