"The young scissors" is an American film that mixes genres such as fantasy, romance and drama, premiered on December 7, 1990 and was directed by Tim Burton, nominated at the Oscar Awards for Best Makeup and Winner of the AwardsBAFTA for better production design and saturn award for best fantasy film.
Timothy Walter Burton was born on August 25, 1958 in Burbank, California, is a American producer, writer and designer, his talent for drawing led him to work as an animator for Walt Disney studies, start making shorts like Vincent in 1982and Frankenweenie in 1984, since then he stood out for directing and producing successful films among which are (Batman, 1989), (the strange world of Jack, 1993), (Charlie and the chocolate factory, 2005), (Frankenweenie,2012), some of them have been markedly awarded, on March 15, 2010 he received the Medal of the Order of the Arts and Letters of France. In the same year, he was the president of the jury of the 63rd Cannes Film Festival.
Summary
The film tells the story of a young man (Edward) created artificially by an inventor which died before finishing it, leaving him with scissors in his hands. Despite his strange appearance (PEG) a cosmetics seller who arrives at the mansion where he was and discovers that Edward was a shy and pleasant young man from what he decides to take him home, where he falls in love with his daughter Kim, the neighborsFrom his neighborhood that are mired in the routine they see Edward’s arrival as something positive especially after seeing everything he can do with his scissors, but not everyone will accept it so easily, especially Jim, Kim’s boyfriend, who after returningOf the mountains, he realizes the interest that Edward has for the young woman, and still decidesThey begin to reject it, Kim finally realizes that despite loving Edward they cannot be together, and it is best to separate for the good of both.
Opinion
I consider that this film is wonderful, not only for its love story but for the terrifying and fantastic touch that Jhonny Deep gives to the character of Edward, who is condemned by his sharp and long hands of scissors, tools with which he is capable ofcreate the most beautiful works of art, but at the same time hurt those around them.
conclusion
I recommend this movie, since it can be interpreted in many ways, it also leaves us a great lesson.
