The world of Sofia: everlasting ideas
"The world of Sofia" is a Norwegian film, directed by Erik Gustavson and starring Silje Storstein in the role of Sofia. This is an adaptation of the novel "The World of Sofia" by Jostein Gaarder, was released in 1999 and considered one the most expensive films to date in Norway. Jostein Gaarder has been creditor of different awards in honor of literature and youth writing such as: the National Literary Criticism Award in Norway and the European Award for Youth Literature, to mention some. His more than fifteen literary works aim to address issues of social interest and existential-philosophical approach in an agile and simple style.
The film establishes a connection between the reality of a teenager, the legacy and context of the great thinkers along with their ideological impact throughout history. It immerses the spectator in a sea of unknowns, sailing through the paths of time: from ancient times and their homogeneity of thoughts, until today where humanity has been released from many of its chains and has been proclaimed redeemer to theUse of individual reasoning.
A strong point of the tape lies in the ability to pass through a clear and precise timeline, with a shocking start that immerses the spectators in the history of one of the greatest thinkers: Socrates, convicted of deathfor encouraging people to think for themselves and see how they really are. Making adequate use of chronology describes the Middle Ages and the impact of religion, highlighting its sovereignty on man and, therefore, of discernment, however, it was the remarkable Saint Thomas of Aquinas who managed to intertwine the Church with philosophy, highlighting the importance of philosophizing art. It should be said that a significant fact is mentioned that divided history into two: the French Revolution, a conflict that sought to end the absolute monarchy. Taking a huge step, Sofia on her trip goes back to one of the most important periods in history, the Renaissance, where the dualism proposed by Descartes helped man in the formation of her own identity.
This is how the film passes through different milestones and manages to reach today where, although each person decides to make their own decisions there are no issues such as "why", "how" or "for what purpose" or, worseStill, it does not go beyond the shadows that are projected. This is why this artistic production is recommended for any type of audience since with the history of Sofia and its struggle to escape the so -called "major" teaches that it is possible that it is possible to escape from the ignorance prison and transcend the everlasting worldof ideas or, as you prefer to call, the world of knowledge. The film is a success in encouraging critical thinking and is questioning of the real, starting from its own existence.
Analysis
Throughout history, philosophy has had great importance in the processes of humanity, in its evolution and in the way in which we have perceived our environment, the way of responding and, more importantly, of analyzing and learning from the eventsof each era. Philosophical art has allowed that in each process and stage of the existence of life in society, thought and doubt about everything, they are pillars so that when all reasoning has been lost and governs the darkness, it can be seen beyond whatthat observe the eyes and question the existence to achieve intellectually: to emancipate from the social bias that binds us to an oppressive yoke. Philosophy as the basis of freedom, thought and justice has played a role of great importance for existence. It is the ability to think and analyze everything that composes being, which has founded what can be perceived and what has allowed to judge from a critical point of view the unattainable truth.
The oppression of reasoning and the free willdarkness, the eternal dispute of knowledge and ignorance. Born from doubt, an intrinsic seed in our nature that turns out to be inseparable from human development, since even from infants seeks to discover the world from the senses, trying to understand it, break it down and be part of it;The doubts have written our history because from them the questions arose and, perhaps, almost so important: the answers. The doubt turns out to be the boson of Higgs in knowledge, the original idea that changes the courses.
Witnesses of the victory of knowledge about the dogmatic ignorance is us, the result of the little light that has been perpetuated in the millennia until today. Light that reminds us that we are an essential part of the gear that will continue to make sense of our history. The Greeks have already done their own: they opened the door to Sofia and, as if that were notbenefit of the major, it is always inconceivable to go against who wants to weave the threads of destiny and intends to enclose the infinite knowledge in its solid gold box.

Regardless of the obstacles and darkness imposed in this perception of the world, the ideas in their everlastmoral, human rights, ethics and a pseudo-book of thought.
It turns out to be the ability to think and have a critical posture that grants the key that releases the being of the bonds and allows it to be known, by himself, the world of ideas and not his shadows. Because knowledge releases and weighs much more than ignorance, it always stands against the oppressor and its yoke to get out of the cavern towards salvation that implies being free in our own thought and its critical ability to understand the world of ideas.
Thinking turns out to be salvation, as René Descartes expresses "I think, then I exist", if I think I have the possibility of being real and not being a simple shadow that expresses an empty light without meaning. Thinking is the possibility of emancipation and transcendence of our species, in any sense, from proprioception to the universal and social perception of the city. Thinking free from bonds and chains, shadows and darkRevolutionized our concept of countless issues.

But are we really prepared for a world of knowledge, for that world of ideas, to take responsibility for that blinding light and what it entails being able to elucidate it? Possibly for the human being it is safer to live with the agony of not knowing something to live with the consequences of facing the blindness that shows the reality and, it is that leaving the comfort zone has not been the greatest virtue of our species.
