"The world of Sofia" is a Norwegian film, directed by Erik Gustavson and starring Silje Storstein in the role of Sofia. This is an adaptation of the novel "The World of Sofia" by Jostein Gaarder, was released in 1999 and considered one the most expensive films to date in Norway. Making adequate use of chronology describes the Middle Ages and the impact of religion, highlighting its sovereignty on man and, therefore, of discernment, however, it was the remarkable Saint Thomas of Aquinas who managed to intertwine the Church with philosophy, highlighting the importance of philosophizing art. It should be said that a significant fact is mentioned that divided history into two: the French Revolution, a conflict that sought to end the absolute monarchy. Taking a huge step, Sofia on her trip goes back to one of the most important periods in history, the Renaissance, where the dualism proposed by Descartes helped man in the formation of her own identity.

This is how the film passes through different milestones and manages to reach today where, although each person decides to make their own decisions there are no issues such as "why", "how" or "for what purpose" or, worseStill, it does not go beyond the shadows that are projected. This is why this artistic production is recommended for any type of audience since with the history of Sofia and its struggle to escape the so -called "major" teaches that it is possible that it is possible to escape from the ignorance prison and transcend the everlasting worldof ideas or, as you prefer to call, the world of knowledge. The film is a success in encouraging critical thinking and is questioning of the real, starting from its own existence.

Throughout history, philosophy has had great importance in the processes of humanity, in its evolution and in the way in which we have perceived our environment, the way of responding and, more importantly, of analyzing and learning from the eventsof each era. Philosophy as the basis of freedom, thought and justice has played a role of great importance for existence. It is the ability to think and analyze everything that composes being, which has founded what can be perceived and what has allowed to judge from a critical point of view the unattainable truth.

The oppression of reasoning and the free willdarkness, the eternal dispute of knowledge and ignorance. Born from doubt, an intrinsic seed in our nature that turns out to be inseparable from human development, since even from infants seeks to discover the world from the senses, trying to understand it, break it down and be part of it;The doubts have written our history because from them the questions arose and, perhaps, almost so important: the answers.
