The Witch, Magic History
The witch’s book is based on the study that Michelet made based on the witches and how satanic rituals and pacts with the devil performed. Also how witchcraft arises throughout the average age between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. With this, different punishments for witchcraft and one of the most famous was the bonfire. Jules Michelet’s purpose was to reveal the witch in her history and context.
In my opinion book of the witch introduces us more in the world of witchcraft and how women were judged at that time. Recall that witchcraft is based on the practice of invoking spirits for any purpose. Witchcraft is associated with the art of magic, rituals and paranormal events. The word witchcraft derives from a witch that refers to the woman who practices rituals or activities that are considered magical or inexplicable. The first appearance of witchcraft occurs in the thirteenth century to designate people, especially women, accused of having links or connections with Satan. Women who were considered witches.
All witchcraft was characterized by the use of potions and the creation of spells. Witchcraft is divided into two large groups that are: white witchcraft that are practical that include spells and that do not have the purpose of doing any damage and the other is the black witchcraft that is based on rites that have bad intentions and seek to affectPeople negatively and both black and white witchcraft are related to the use of magic. Women were not ugly or bad people as described in universal literature, but women generating specific knowledge.
This book leaves us as a teaching that in the Middle Ages already with the simple fact of being a woman was already pointed out as a witch. In addition, as we saw before, the witchcraft was not rolled, it was bad but good and used for positive purposes and nobody was hurt. The witch’s book is a good book that makes us inform ourselves more about witchcraft in the Middle Ages and knowing how women were yet judged without practicing witchcraft and how they brutally tortured them.
