Only during 2018, federative licenses have increased almost 3% compared to 2017. And in the case of athletics, federative licenses have risen more than 30% in the last four years. But ultimately, what does federation mean or federated in a sport? When we talk about being federated to a sport, we refer to belonging to an Autonomous Sports Federation.

By deciding to federate, an athlete obtains a federative license, that is, a document that certifies that it is part of the Autonomous Federation;Consequently, he is recognized by the corresponding National Federation. On the other hand, when an athlete practices one or several modalities without being federated, his efforts and conquests are not endorsed by these organisms. Therefore, they cannot be accounted for at the time of registering in any federative activity or official competition.
