The Romans and their engineering achievements
The Romans are famous for their advanced engineering achievements, although some of their own inventions were improvements in older ideas, concepts and inventions. The technology to bring running water to the cities developed in the east, but was transformed by the Romans into an inconceivable technology in Greece.
The roads were common at that time, but the Romans improved their design and perfected construction as many of their roads are still in use today.
