The migration vision in the United States

One of the most predominant problems in the world today is the issue of migration, specifically migration in the United States. There is a variation of opinions about what migration means to the most powerful country in the world. Their president, Donald Trump, says that crime, drug entry and rape levels are given thanks to migrants who enter the country. Today, migration to the United States is being used to explain high crime rates, violations, drug trafficking, even average unemployment and salary. Instead of focusing on these problems and trying to find the true root of each of them, an exaggeration and new side are being manufactured and a "problem" that brings more benefits than hazards and the situation in its entirety is very lack of ethics.

Historically the United States has been a country with high number of migrants. People who are in search of the "American dream", since the 1600s years when Europeans sought territorial and economic power to the present with people in search of better opportunities and conditions for their families. Setting exclusively in the last 100 years, we can find a lot of information about migration. In 1924 the "Immigration Act" was approved that limits the number of migrants that are allowed to enter the country per year. If the level of illegal migrants rises, this causes the border security to increase with them. Almost 20 years later, Mexicans enter the country to work to compensate for the lack of work for World War II. After the war, the US allows the entry of thousands of immigrants and refugees from a great variation of countries for many different reasons between them Cubans, Hungarian and Asians.

In 1965 President Lyndon B. Johnson changed the migratory system. The quota system that favored certain groups over others becomes a system based on seven preference levels that prioritizes the families meeting. In the years that come a lot of people fleeing from wars in Asia. Forty years later, Senators Dick Durbin and Orrin Hatch propose an act that would let the “dreamy” undocumented children of illegal immigrants could have a legal status opportunity. This act is rejected and it is not until 2012 that President Barack Obama signs the "Daca" protecting some "dreamers" from being deported. In 2017, the arrival of President Donald Trump and his beginning of attacks and criticisms of the immigration legal system.

Donald Trump decreased the amount of refugee admissions, has slowed the legal immigration process, made the Muslim prohibition, uses the migratory courts to increase deportations, is separating families and is carrying behind naturalized citizens. In February 2017, relatives of victims of illegal immigrants invite Congress and use them to generalize a significant part of the population of their country. In July of the same year and addressing the state of the Union as in January 2018, he mentions crimes committed by the MS-13 gang and as a solution proposes to end migration. In November 2018 he calls the caravan that travels from South America an "invasion", a group of people who do not want in their country. From his office he questions the Americans “the more American blood you must spill before Congress does their job?".

As is evident, this issue is not political nadamas but also ethical and involves the discussion of human rights. Is it correct to blame immigrants of problems that cover the entire country using isolated examples to generalize? Are you okay to remove opportunities and separate families to work in this narrative? This topic addresses many sides to analyze, one of them (and in my opinion the most important/worrying) is the ethics of everything. According to Immanuel Kant, one must question and try to visualize his decisions as universal. Then question, if everyone rejects a group of people to assume and generalize, what would happen?
