The message transmitted by the book The Little Prince

“Here is my secret, which cannot be simpler: only with my heart you can see well; The essential is invisible to the eyes". This is one of the phrases that is in the work the little prince of the French author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, I tell that although it has been taken as a work aimed at children, the message it transmits can reach anyone who pays attention toThis lecture.

The book narrator is an aviator whose airplane collapsed in the middle of the desert and while trying to repair it, a unique character named the Little Prince appears asking him to draw a lamb. After many failed attempts, the narrator ends up drawing a box and tells him that the lamb is inside. Thus, over time starts the conversation with the child while continuing to try to repair the plane. The little prince tells him how the asteroid was where he lived, what he possessed and especially describes a superb flower that he liked to take care of. Then he tells him that he has traveled the space visiting planets, six to be accurate, where he has found a single inhabitant in each one, with unique characteristics: a superb king, a vain, a drinker, a businessman, a man with a lanternand a geographer. He also tells him how his arrival on Earth was, his encounter with a flower alone in the desert that only once saw human beings, who domesticated a fox and saw a place where there were many roses equal to what he had. One day, both characters find a well, they sat down their thirst and the little prince stays next to the well on a wall nearby to spend the night. The next day, the aviator finds him talking with a snake and in the end, he tells him that he has already left back to his planet.

The fluidity of the book is pleasant, because it deals with very specific issues with the naturalness and simplicity of a child. The representative elements are very clear, for example; The six characters of the planets reflect trends from human beings, thus the king represents arrogance, the vain superficiality and the need for attention, the drinker denotes consumerism and addiction to certain material things, the businessman denotes greedy,The lantero accentuates getting used to useless routines and the geographer reminds people who in need of accumulating knowledge, stop living their life.

Throughout the text, exclamations are always resorted to such as: "Decidedly, the elderly are very strange" and this is to remind us of whatever the age we were, we must always give us some time to reason that one day we were childrenAnd within us, there will always be a part that is still. The objective is to make us think that if we are like the people who were on the planets, "serious people", we will always be alone, in that banality and materiality that moves us away from things that really are important in this life. And why live this life without meaning? Why live in monotony without understanding that there are more value things? Why can’t we be like the little prince and live with simplicity and faith, but always with that analytical and reflective sense?

Friendship is also described and analyzed with phrases such as “If we are going to die, I’m glad to have a friend."We always give each other for us, to be comfortable and on many occasions to give us that false happiness that produces accumulate money and material things. But the Little Prince invites us to something else, to cultivate pure friendships, without any interest or eagerness of own benefit;invites us to share love and values with someone else. Let us remember, as I cited it at the beginning, that the things that really matter, do not see their eyes.

The third aspect that from my point of view stands out in this reading is the issue of death. Representing that term with an animal with poison can be misleading; It is not about seeing death as a taboo, but treating it as a natural process, but we should not rush when it is not time, but we must avoid "that bite us" without having done before what corresponds to us in "thisJourney ”, in this life.

Finally, the story leaves us with a hole in the stomach, the desire to know what would happen to the little prince to his planet; But he makes an invitation, he invites us to live with three small words, but they have a huge meaning: faith, love and friendship. And so with those values we have to undertake our trip and … laugh with the stars!
