The meaning of the truth
The truth is a term that is spoken very frequently in almost all aspects of everyday life, because there are many perceptions about what this word means, and even those variations extend to the areas of human knowledge where eachOne understands differently the involvement and meaning of truth.
While for exact sciences the truth is checks that are repeatable, for other areas an absolute truth is not defined, but that this can be variable depending on the perception of who observes.This condition results that what is considered true is so variable depending on the perception of the environment, so it is said that there is no absolute or unique truth, but that this will depend on the individual and moral perceptions that establish parameters whatThey will allow them to identify certain indicators regarding the assessment of the truth. But regardless of the differences that exist in terms of the conception of the meaning of the truth, the fact that it is adaptable and flexible, while any fallacy that can be offered as a truth will tend to be destructive or self-destructive.
The truth has been one of the greatest conflicts that philosophy has had over time and that since its different branches and currents to be tried. In the majority, they agree that the truth is the result of the analysis of reality and that the individual depends to a large extent on the perception and experiences, therefore, it is not possible to speak of the existence of a universal truth, but on a uniform perceptionof reality, although this store at some point to subjectivism.
According to Aristotle, the truth lies in thought and is understood by external factors, which means that the understanding of reality depends largely on the perception of the senses, in which the individual becomes an object of knowledge what note and rationalizes, which is able to create an understanding of reality. So it can be said that there is no universal and absolute truth, it is possible to talk about multiple truths that depend on the subjectivity of individual perception.
According to Russell, the truth must meet three requirements directly related to ethics:
- Who admits the opposite: falsehood. (There are theories that ensure that all our thoughts must be true).
- Falsehood and truth are properties of statements and beliefs.
- The truth or falsehood of belief always depends on something that is outside of belief itself although the truth and falsehood are properties that depend on the relationship of beliefs are things, not on certain internal qualities of beliefs. The truth is based on a certain form of correspondence between what was done and beliefs.”(Russell, 1992)
The truth is a property not so much of thoughts and ideas but more properly of beliefs and statements, but believing or affirming something is not enough to make it happen. The truth is not constant, some beliefs that were considered true now are considered false, and some by which the truth can now be considered false in the future, and vice versa, and vice versa .
The truth also has an ethical and moral implication not only because it is related to the perception and experiences of individuals, but goes beyond the differentiation of beliefs and statements, because as mentioned above, not all beliefs orstatements that are proposed have the characteristic of being true, therefore not all apparent perceptions of reality can be considered as true. Although there is no something located as a universal truth, it is true that there are constants in the world and in reality itself, which is foolish to deny it. It is important to avoid falling into the trap of relativism and subjectivism, not why in most philosophical branches the importance of perception is considered when interpreting reality if relativism and subjectivism constantly fall into vice, then therational exercise loses all sense.
The knowledge that the human being possesses and generates, but also resulting in diverse voices that limit the understanding of the truth. The truth has been understood independently of reality with the characteristics of being a public and eternal variable, therefore if a statement does not meet the requirements mentioned above must be considered false. It is not denied that there are known facts and truths derived from reality, but it is important to distinguish that the facts are derived from a set of truths that have been verified over time and consequently are products of reality itself. While the truth is considered as the base mechanism through which the human can learn and know about what is around him. For that reason, understand the meaning of its reality, thus materializing truth and how it manifests itself in various forms that do not modify their nature, since they remain stable even without being discussed by the subject of knowledge.
