Another myth about the legalization of drugs is the idea that violence will increase, because drugs are considered to be the cause of violence and crime, but that although partially true.
There is no proof that it will be. The mostly cited argument in favor of the legalization of drugs is that it can mean a great strong income for the State, since once legalized, they must pay taxes, and thus, their sale and distribution will also be regulated. The issue of drugs implies considering the various implications and consequences that it can have for both people and society, so it is important and necessary that the debates be opened not based on myths but on realities and tangible data. In addition, there are also drugs that are used to treat conditions and diseases and that help reduce pain in patients, such as marijuana. It can also be added that drug trafficking has taken over the sale and marketing of drugs and that has raised violence rates in Mexico.
