The great migration rate in Mexico

Globalization is linked to migration and is a natural and inevitable factor for the growth of a country. It refers to the change of residence through geographical displacement. There are 2 terms for this phenomenon, immigration and emigration, where the first occurs when people enter a country, and the second where people leave the country.

Migration in Mexico is very high and the causes that cause it are diverse. One is because they want to find better job opportunities and better salaries, to meet with relatives, for studies (universities, postgraduate ones, masters, etc.), For the insecurity and violence in Mexico, in conclusion, to improve their quality of life.

The unequal development of the Mexican economy has caused people to aspire to leave the country, since for many, Mexico does not have the ability to meet their needs or provide the necessary tools to achieve their goals, for example, there are not enough jobs, wages are very low, health services are very basic, as well as educational quality, organized crime increases more, etc. This brings a very strong impact on Mexico, because it causes a decrease in income, a leakage of talent young people dueIn many cases migrating is a temporary alternative, but time is usually extended, etc.

The situation of migration in Mexico is complicated because it is an expeller of labor but also a receptor of migrants from other countries. Mainly from Venezuela, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, among others. This happens because Mexico shares one of the borders of greater economic and demographic flow with the United States.

Mexicans who manage to settle in the United States are definitely benefited by their new economic conditions, as are their family, since they send money to Mexico and contribute greatly to the family economy. In addition to that as American residents they have access to health services, access to education, etc.

However, the famous "American dream" and the hopes of prospering are not always able to cross the border with the United States, since this country is characterized by exercising many abuses and discrimination. In addition to millions of Mexicans, they have been forced to emigrate without documentation and work illegally, which positions them as an extremely vulnerable sector and susceptible to violations of their human rights. His workforce, for example, is extremely cheap (especially for manufacturing and agricultural).

But the reality of things is that in Mexico undocumented migrants live similar problems to those living in the United States. In our country, most migrants are little respected, they are the third most discriminated group (after indigenous people), and not only are not respected their rights, but also suffer from unemployment, insecurity and abuse.

Another important migration factor in Mexico is "the beast" (train that transports merchandise and raw material). Thousands of migrants risk their lives in such aSituations such as mutilations, falls, violations, hypothermia, insoloations, assaults, etc.

In Mexico, urban or internal migration is also presented, which refers to the change of residence from one state to another within a country. At first it was the rural population that went to urban and large cities. Over time the migratory flow was no longer only on the part of the rural sector, but of the entire population and began to concentrate on the cities that were more attractive and tourist.

Nowadays migrants have a certain common profile, they are usually young and adults, from 23 to 35, most are men, they are economically assets and participate in the secondary and tertiary sectors. The cities where they go are Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Puebla, among other.

To conclude, the migratory reality that is currently lived in Mexico is a problem that must be solved, it is necessary for the country to improve so that Mexicans do not want to leave and better contribute to the growth of the country, in addition to exercising and demanding respect for theHuman rights to any migrant, as well as having a control of who enters and who leaves the country to take the corresponding measures.
