Women have been subject to inequalities and violation of rights due to their gender status throughout human history and mainly from the sexual division of labor. In Ecuador it was no exception, women’s situations were limited to reproductive function, but, however, there were great examples of women who exceeded their situation and achieved great actions in favor of the great Ecuadorian majorities. By the end of the 18th century, the American colonies were going through a very agitated process in their history.
The interests of the Spanish crown were seriously played, since practically all the colonies had reached a high degree of political maturity, and, both social, economic and political conditions were giving, which would entail a few years later to the definitive rupture of every linkPolitician with the metropolis.
