The ethical implications in the use of science and technology in society

 

The meaning of science is the set of knowledge obtained through observation and reasoning, from which general principles and laws are deduced. In its broadest sense, the word science is used to refer to knowledge in any field, but which is usually applied mainly to the organization of the verifiable experimental process.

Science through technology has been present in many fields: economic, political, military, cultural, so it is impossible for the importance of its existence in the rethinking of some problems and the approach ofnew ones looking for solutions, and this is where the ethical conscience of scientists and the public has become evident.

Positive phenomena

  • Well used scientific knowledge produces progress and well -being
  • The Union of Science Technology has led to changes in life forms, consumption habits, in the man-nature relationship and even in the man-man relationship in recent decades.
  • Medical advances give another dimension to the human body, which is molded, feeds, monitors, scan.
  • For health and beauty both men and women undergo treatments (some of them extremely expensive), exercise routines, food and vitamin regimes, periodic medical check -ups and aesthetic surgeries to improve physical appearance.
  • Our houses are saturated with products that science and technology has contributed, from telephone devices, electric light, television, refrigerators, hairmakers, warming to mention some.

 

Negative phenomena

Spend hours in front of the computer, talk on the phone, chat excessively, listen to music in headphones at full volume and stick to the TV, it has consequences that you possibly suffer and you had not realized.
