Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein proposed many of the theories that helped scientists make the atomic bomb. When he realized that such a bomb could be manufactured, he was scared of what could happen if Hitler and Germany learned to make the pump first. He wrote a letter to US president Franklin Roosevelt telling him about the atomic bomb. As a result, Roosevelt created the Manhattan project.
Manhattan project
The Manhattan project was the name of the Atomic Pump Research and Development Program. Ironically, many of the scientists involved in the manufacture of the bomb had deserted from Germany. The bomb was launched by a plane called Enola Gay, piloted by Colonel Paul Tibbetts. The pump itself had more than 10 feet and weighed around 10,000 pounds. Nagasaki
Despite witnessing the terrible destruction of the bomb in Hiroshima, Emperor Hirohito and Japan still refused to surrender. Three days later, on August 9, 1945, another atomic bomb, nicknamed fat man, was thrown over Nagasaki, Japan. Once again, devastation was horrible. Rendary six days after the bombing of Nagasaki, Emperor Hirohito and Japan surrendered to US forces. The emperor announced it by radio. It was the first time that most Japanese listened to their voice.
