The alchemist and the materialization of dreams

In Paulo Coehlo’s book, the alchemist says, “When a person really wants something, the entire universe conspires so that he can make his dream.”(Coelho PG. 22) In the book it is taught that if you really want something in life, everyone will work and take him to the thing he wants so much. There is a piece for the puzzle to do it completely. What is it: when you have done all the possible job to achieve what you want more in the world, the universe will help you achieve it.

In the book Coehlo explains the story of a pastor called Santiago. He lives for his native land but in the landscape. He had a disturbing dream when he fell asleep there taking care of his sheep near a sicomorous tree near the church. What he does is sell his sheep wool. He has always had the desires to go and travel the world but his dad wanted to be a priest. But his dad was so good that he gave him three pieces of gold to start his trips. Santiago decided that the landscape was better then he was selling his wool for the villages there. A year later he had the same dream he had before.

He goes to a gypsy for her can interpret her dream. When he arrived he told him his dream. In the dream he is in the field with his sheep and a child 2 begins to play with the sheep. The child takes Santiago at hand, and transports it to the pyramids in Egypt and tells him that he will find his treasure near them. When the child begins to say the exact location Santiago wakes up from the dream. The gypsy says that she only wants a ten percentage of the treasure and says that the treasure exists because the child taught him. After leaving there it was thought that it was not true. Walking down the street meets a king called Melchizedek. He teaches him as of personal legends and that he appears to all who are about to leave their dreams. He says that he has to go looking for the treasure because he exists and that he is for the pyramids. He teaches him as good omans, and gives Urim and Thummim. What you can do with Urim and Thummim is asking questions that need an answer yes or not to the pebrites. After asking them they will say yes or not.

He goes on a trip and after traveling he wants to go home and be the shepherd of his sheep. He meets an alchemist. He motivates him to keep looking for the treasure. After many lessons and desert learning he leaves alone to keep looking for the treasure. He arrives at a part of the desert where he believes that the treasure is. Start digging and while three men arrive and they talk. One says he had a dream too. In his dream the treasure is close to a sicomorous tree near a church. At this moment Santiago knew where his treasure was. It was where he was in Spain near the church where he slept.

Rhonda Byrne wrote the book The Secret. She is an author of Australia. In the book she explains something very similar. She says the secret in life to have the things she wants. That a person simply has to master a natural law. Rhonda begins by explaining that people who begin to think about a thing they want one day will have the thing. "The Secret is The Law of Attraction! EveryThing that is coming into your life you are attracting into your life. And it is attacted to you virtue of the images you’re holding in your mind. It is What You’re Thinking. Whatver you are Thinking in Your Mind You Are Attracting To You.”1 (Byrne PG.4). For example if I put a dollar on the roof of my room directly above my head one day I will have a lot of money. Because every morning when I wake up the first thing I am going to see is money and that this moment I will think of money for the whole day. When it’s time to go to sleep the last thing I’m going to see is money too. So she says that her subconscious will think of money. That there is a natural law that says that what thinks.

She explains that she can’t have something in her life if she is not thinking about this thing daily. It is true that he cannot be a doctor if he is always thinking of being a lawyer. It cannot be rich if you are always thinking about poverty. Not being able to handle a Ferrari if you only think about the bus.

It is something very correct that he is teaching for his book. To get to a place or be a person you have to think about the things you want. But you also have to do the necessary things to achieve it. Because in life you always have to see works. So if you are thinking of being a doctor. Since childhood you have to imagine as a doctor. You have to get very good notes when you are in high school. You have to like the teaching of these things like chemistry and science. You have to go to college. It has to be the best of its class. You also have to do things like a volunteer. You have to have a number of hours as will. From there you have to choose what kind of doctor wants to be. You have to do all things to be a doctor while thinking of being a doctor. While he is imagining every day of having the certificate that doctor says.

But what she explains and that the alchemist explains is that only when you think will achieve something. In the Bible there are many Scriptures that explains to this principle. This principle is sometimes called faith. In Santiago 2:26 he says, "faith without works is dead" (Holy Bible PG.1504) . This writing explains that there are two things to faith. First you have to believe in the thing, and the second is that you have to see works. You have to do the work that successful do. And if he does not, he can’t achieve what he wants in his life. They will only be dreams and nothing more.

When you have done all the possible job to achieve what you want more in the world, the universe will help you achieve it. We cannot achieve our dreams just by thinking about them. The universe wants to help us achieve our dreams. What we need to do is all that is in our possession and the universe will help us with the rest.
