The university students have grown under the influence of audiovisual and network. The new technological tools (social networks, blogs, video platforms, etc.) have given them the power to share, create, inform and communicate, becoming an essential element in their lives.

They have become an ideal space to exchange information and knowledge in a quick, simple and comfortable way. Teachers can take advantage of this situation and the predisposition of students to use social networks to incorporate them into teaching.

It has been seen that in the world, the most used networks according to the number of millions of users are Facebook (1.500 million), WhatsApp (900 million), Messenger (800 million) and Instagram (400 million).

Therefore, in the current one that is considered a digital era it is impossible that in relation to young people social networks are not mentioned as part of their daily life;Nowadays it is difficult to imagine a globalized world without technological tools such as social networks that allow quick and safe access to information in shorter and effective times than a few years ago.

These influence students’ life in a positive and at the same time negative way if they are not used correctly.

This is because the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) are growing at an accelerated pace and is leading to important changes in society, allowing information to be available to everyone and offering new communication channelsand entertainment. These tools introduce new paths of relationship between people capable of improving their quality of life and that are relevant in the company, teaching or health, among others.

In reference to the academic area, technological resources have modified the form of communication in the classrooms.

As is known, the academic training of the medical student implies a series of historical exercises and practices, which do not change over time, the only thing that changes are their actors.

Today the massive and unmoked use of electronic social networks has caused an ethical debate in this field, since students and medical professionals use these networks to relate to their colleagues and their patients, and as a medical tool that transcendsIts exclusive use at the work site, which, although beneficial, exposes them to the constant risk of crossing the limit between what is considered a professional behavior and what does not.
