Slaves yearning for the word freedom, without knowing its meaning

Freedom? Slaves knew the word freedom, but not their meaning. Slavery is one of the greatest events in the history of humanity. Be remote to thousands of years old. Slavery is the condition of people who are under the property of an owner. A slave has no property, he has no right or say, it is an object that others use for their own benefit. They cannot marry because they already belong to someone else. A slave lacked freedom, were under the total domain of someone with more power.

People who were on the lowest step of society were used as slaves. In more remote times they used the captives after a war to work or were shot, but then preferred to use them as slaves to obtain an economic benefit. Slavery was accepted and defended in ancient times. It was often necessary for the economy and society of civilizations. In ancient times slaves were used in homes, in commerce, in construction and agriculture. Europeans need cheap labor to reach their expansion plans. Therefore they enslaved the native aboriginal peoples of America and brought slaves from Africa, thus the slave trade emerged, where black people were bought and sold in markets as if it were an object.

Slavery led to many historical events. Affected the world both economically and political and social. There were many treatment of people, racism, poverty etc.

Slaves have fought an arduous fight in the search for their freedom and equality. Today I am going to talk about some slaves who rebelled the system. They saw the unfair of their lives and conditions and tried to fight to achieve their freedom. The owners of these slaves said that their slaves were submissive and that they were satisfied with their lives.

In the article, "the Spanish crown and the rebellion of the slaves of 1795" the author describes how the slaves of the province of Norte of Saint-Domingue, led by color free, rose in arms attacking the whites and their haciendascausing great death and destruction. According to the article, “there has much been talk about slaves’s rebellion in 1795 in Saint-Domingue, the French colony on the Spanish island. This fact has always been treated as the first great slave revolution of the modern era that ended with the independence of Haiti in 1804 ”.

One of the greatest rebellions was the one directed by Nat Turner in Virginia, during the summer of 1831. In the document, "General Nat Turner and the rebellion of slaves", by Herbert Aptheker, he describes Turner’s life, his beginnings, as his mother hated so much slavery that he thought of killing him so that his son did not have to liveThat life, recounts the rebellion that cost Nat Turner’s life. For this Turner rebellion I manage to gather more than 40 slaves. The rebellion lasted 48 hours and left a balance of 60 owners of dead slaves … shook the system to the foundations. According to the author, “after two months in hiding, Nat Turner surrendered; They took him chained to Jerusalem. In the trial, Nat Turner declared himself innocent, because he simply felt guilty. They condemned him for insurrection. Six days later they hanged him;He walked to execution without showing fear or even saying a word ".

Another rebellion that sounded a lot was when slaves rebelled against their owners Cherokee. In the article "When the black slaves rebelled against their masters Cherokee in 1842," the author described how they used black slaves and the Indians. Both the Cherokee and other peoples of North America used the prisoners of war and slaves to work in the field. Slavery became key to the economy of tribes. According to the author, “there was a curious episode that occurred in 1842, when about twenty -five slaves decided to flee from the planting of their owner Cherokee, probably the most wealthy, as he had two hundred blacks on Web Falls. The escape was sounded because the slaves did not limit themselves to leaving, but they locked their owners and assaulted the warehouse, stealing weapons, provisions and horses, although they could leave without anyone dealing with them;In the end, the only victims were James Edwards and Billy Wilson, with whom they ran into the road to Mexico and were in the wrong place and moment ”.

In the article, “El Espartaco Negro, the leader to rebel the US slaves. UU."By Jorge Benítez, he says that" the black population has lived in America for more time than free ".

The abolition of slavery came in the 18th century, where abolitionists took ideas of the Enlightenment and affirmed that every man should have the same rights. There was also a reason that helped the extermination of slavery: the industrial revolution, which was based on the work paid and not on slavery.

Slavery has lasted to this day, slave practices are still in African villages, in addition to assimilable oppressions such as human trafficking or child labor.

In the current era, there are many forced labor, many employees are exploited by their employers, but slavery is prohibited in most countries. I think there is still much to explore as to slavery concerns. It is an event that affects humanity in one way or another.
