Sexual and reproductive rights of women

Introduction.

Talking about human rights is a relatively new issue, talking about sexual and reproductive rights directed especially towards women is not only new is also a hidden issue that prevents all from having that knowledge within reach of our hands.

Already the mere fact of talking about female sexuality causes discomfort, discomfort, penalty, talk, etc.Mexican society is not made to the idea of seeing women beyond motherhood and gender stereotypes that place us as people without rights, installed in submission and highly manipulable.

But where does this come from? It arises from looking at the feminine with repudiation, it is pointed out with inferiority, historically, in Mexico women have not been seen with equality and respect, in the text conceptions about the sexualities of women among the Aztecs, it realizes how they were seen and thatFunctions or uses had their mission in life and were labeled as merchandise to negotiate with other peoples, they were designated to stay at home for reproductive purposes, they were sent to the service sex, the disqualification of the feminine and its functionsAssigned by the company owned in the attributes of men and women for political and economic functioning, the Aztecs believed that female sexuality was uncontrollable and that the seduction they possessed had to be dominated.

Developing.

Female deities represented activities attributed to women and are also presented as beings that were violated and taken by other gods.

All this leads to observing in a very clear way the submission to the feminine, the reification and normalization of violence, relating the feminine to the inferior, misfortunes, shame, lust, the perdition of men, female sexualityHe was a look at the political-economic needs of these societies permeated by a patriarchal structure that ordered and assigned to women certain behaviors, demanded the "virginity" of women, were forced marriages, prostitution to please warriors,Punishment for female adultery and permissiveness of the violation of women belonging to defeated peoples.

Consider the female body as an object, a territory, an exchange material gives way to cancel its independence, its autonomy, its feeling. The struggle to gain spaces in sexual and reproductive rights for women has taken many years, has gone from generation to generation the vision of women as the most useless members within a society, these ideas are reinforced thanks to the complicity ofThe media, politics, family, but above all of the Church that marks the submission and obedience of women and denies our sexual and reproductive rights.

From my personal experience I can talk about the "castrating" that religion has been in my life, spend 3 years of my adolescence in a Catholic school where there was no talk of comprehensive sexual education beyond the use of condom, contraceptive methods and reproductive devicesmale and female. Sexual diversity was not mentioned, when someone showed interest towards someone of the same genre was sanctioned and exhibited before the entire student community as a "lesson", for the rest. Harassment and sexual violence within the school by teachers towards students was common currency, nobody towards anything, it was easier to turn their eyes on the other side and keep silent before these events. This is when I began to question the system to which I belonged, I no longer wanted to see these scenes repeated again and again,

I met about the existence of the Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) which is an International Human Rights Treaty that protects women’s rights, in theory, the signatory countries of this treaty commit themselves toassert and protect the rights of this sector of society, which, in reality and in everyday life, does not happen. What shows us this? The lack of will of the government and of the society in general to establish important changes that will make women live a life free of violence, where their rights are clearly understood and applied.

My rights have hardly been able to exercise them precisely, I have been denied access to contraceptive methods, since they ask that my partner firm an authorization to perform any procedure, something like “asking permission” to do with my body what I I consider it convenient, it has been discriminated on in the workplace for being a mother, since they consider that the women who have children are "problems" or we missed a lot, I was harassed by a police element within the Metro facilities and when I report it it was my Word against his, my professional practice and the training that I received as a psychologist has allowed me to accompany several women who have lived violence in therapeutic processes, my work is that they recognize themselves, which can see where the Machista-patriarchal violence that took away their tranquility, their peace, their freedom.

These broken souls that arrive with me travel a path full of setbacks and abuses to their rights when they decideaccess justice, that "justice" that is embodied in laws and is contemplated as a right.

“However, women do not want to assume the world of inequality and subordination of past times.

The ideology of equality and human rights is used by women around the world to fill themselves with reasons that contribute legitimacy to their emancipation. And this revolution that women have starred during the last three centuries, but very particularly throughout the second half of the twentieth century, will not stop. There may be steps back, but in the seeds of freedom and equality they are sown and before or after the women you will collect the fruits of their struggles."

Do we have our rights guaranteed? Reality shows us no, just look at the news, read the newspapers, look on social networks all the news that speaks of one more femicide, of another case of sexual violence, of another pregnant girl or adolescent, of attacks and aggressionsTo women of sexual diversity.

Violence is extremely entrenched and naturalized in the patriarchal society in which we live, continue to see us as inferior which leads to that much more extreme forms of violence are accepted, the truth is that we are fighting, we are organizing, we are taking thoseSpaces that have been taken to us, we want our rights to be fulfilled in a timely manner, unfortunately this opposition and this struggle that we are carrying out has caused violence to be exacerbated and want to return to the spaces where historically we have been assigned.

It is time, then, to organize, to embrace feminism, to show sound, to include men as part of this change and this deconstruction where they themselves can look at their violence and manage to leave them aside, the rights there are,Treaties, Agreement Signatures, Laws and a Long List could mention. We still lack a long way to break those paradigms that go through us on a day -to -day basis, that moment will come when my rights are guaranteed.
