Sexual and reproductive health plan

Introduction.

The National Sexual and Reproductive Health Policy aims to guarantee the entire population comprehensive and quality care, through the exercise of sexual and reproductive rights through the expansion of sexual and reproductive health coverage in the national health systemFrom Ecuador.

Developing.

Approaches to the National Sexual and Reproductive Health Plan:

1. Information, education and advice on sexual health and reproductive health
2. Access to integral sexual and reproductive health services
3. Community action, social dialogue and co -responsibility
4. Transformation of sociocultural patterns

Therefore, these policies respond to the priority problems found in sexual and reproductive health within which they stand out:

• Biological problems that go unnoticed in the different stages of life and that correlate with conditions associated with SS and SR (breast cancer, prostate, cervix) as well as physiological and psychological conditions are integrated.
• Social problems that become erroneous thoughts, taboos, ignorance, misinformation, violence, lack of commitment from the general population, as well as authorities and health professionals. Gender violence constitutes a great social problem in Ecuador, since 6 out of 10 women of 15 or more years have suffered physical aggressions (38%), sexual (25.7%), psychological or heritage due to being women. 
• Structural problems from the absence of compliance/ creation of policies that direct the issues of interest from the same perspective. On the other hand, it also influences the delay in attention, decision making, transfers and user assistance to services, which constitutes barriers that limit the effectiveness of policies. The reduced investment that is made in terms of promotion of SS and SR cannot also be mentioned, as well as the low information that is generated and disseminated within the population.

Faced with this problem, the goals pursued are

• Decrease in maternal, neonatal and child death rate
• Decrease in sexually transmitted disease rate
• Decrease in sexual crimes and violence
• Fecundity rate decrease
• Decrease in teenage pregnancy

To reach compliance with these goals and objectives, strategic guidelines corresponding to:

• Promote health and prevent disease and thus vigorize the exercise of sexual and reproductive rights.
• Guarantee the rectory of the national health authority with specificity in sexual and reproductive health.
• Bridal comprehensive care in the field of sexual and reproductive health and thus prevent, identify and attend to people victims of gender violence
• Guarantee comprehensive health care to prevent, identify and treat people in the STIs including HIV
• Guarantee comprehensive health care to prevent, detect and act pertinently to people with cancer associated with sexual and reproductive health
• Guarantee the right to reliable information, timely quality in family planning and contraception services.
• Guarantee safe motherhood, as well as neonatal health through prevention, promotion and comprehensive care
• Strengthen the offer of friendly and quality health services for adolescent.

Fundamental principles of the National Plan for Sexual Health and Reproductive Health: Basic principles have been raised that seek to seek the development and well -being of individuals:

1. Sexual rights and reproductive rights as human rights.
2. Equity: All people will have access to sexual and reproductive health services according to their needs without this access being violated by characteristics such as race, age, culture, health status among others.
3. Respect for the principles of bioethics: respect for the dignity of the person
4. Social participation: it promotes the link with society and in this way manages to respond to the needs felt by the same.
5. Confidentiality: respect for the intimacy and privacy of sexual and reproductive life.

Advances in the implementation of public policy.

• Contraceptive methods offered for free in around 2.150 health establishments.
• Development of clinical norms and guides.
• Application of adolescent differentiated care processes in more than 700 certified units as inclusive.
• Health professionals/officials (around 3417) trained in HIV diagnosis.
• Dancing tests performed on pregnant women (496.800).
• Issuance of the Comprehensive Health Care model in the educational context.
• Family planning and contraception advice in 100% of adolescents who graduate from childbirth, caesarean section or abortion.
• Creation of 1950 local citizen committees sensitized in sexual and reproductive health.
• Trained professionals (28.874) In comprehensive care in gender violence
• First reception rooms
• Health establishments that apply procedures for gender violence (approximately 2.150) 

Conclusions.

After analyzing the biological, social and structural problems, what remains as a result are the following threats found in the field of sexual and reproductive health: high rates of maternal, neonatal and child mortality, which increase considerably, high rates of diseases of diseases of diseasesSexual transmission where HIV is included, increased sexual crimes and violence (includes practices such as human trafficking, bullying, discrimination), high fertility rates, teenage pregnancy that brings with it low schooling, poverty and labor exploitation.
