Since ancient times we have witnessed the constant deficiencies that the regulation of labor aspects has, personally I have witnessed work injustices throughout my professional experience and I can say that despite the efforts raised by the International Labor Organization, There are still injustices and perhaps it is not related to the organization directly but, rather with a cultural and social issue of our country, there are still salary gaps between men and women, still women are discriminated against by being of fertile age, there are still companies that They do not consider the rights of collaborated and are seen as another number, on the other hand we have the cases of regulatory entities such as labor inspections that are not in line with their protection, but with the protection of companies, from this framework I can state that I consider that there are still deficiencies in this regard and that is why not considering that efforts have been Notorious and throughout this text we can see the differences of it, but I still think that it is still hard hand in this regard.
There are companies in the industrial field that even take care of the health of their workers, exposed to chemical and biological risks without personal protection elements, should there be a person constantly supervising that these rules are fulfilled?, We know that this is impossible to achieve, both for the financial spending that this entails and for the limited existing budget for it.
The International Labor Organization
It was founded in the year 1919 as a result of the high demand to improve the health and safety conditions at work, this due to the number of accidents at work such as the fire produced in the Triangle Shitwaist factory in New York, this happened inThe year 1911 and 146 workers died, leaving more than 70 wounded and completely destroyed the factory, on the other hand a similar disaster was lived in the British senghenydddddddddddddic mine in 1913 where 439 workers lost their lives, finally another disaster of this magnitude wasHe lived in the explosion in Inadian Puerto de Halifax in 1917 where 2000 people lost their lives, of which the majority were workers. Due to all these aforementioned background, it began the previous one to the Constitution of the ILO., establishing a principle that indicates the physical, moral and intellectual well -being of workers who received remuneration.
The world is constantly changing, whether technological, organizational and climatic, so considerations for workers in the protection issue must change and offer greater security in certain aspects to workers not only from the country but of the whole world,because in other countries of the world, workers and companies face great risks, this due to the changes that the world has presented.
These new technologies have brought new risks, such as nanotechnology, whose effects are not yet studied in detail. The risks are varied and depend on the industry. These risks are measured through indicators such as accidents, in Chile these labor accident figures fell substantially, the indicators showed a rate of 4.9 per 100 protected collaborators in 2012 and went down to 3.1 In 2018. With regard to occupational diseases, this indicator shows an update with 4.432 in 2011 and 6.911 In 2018 of which 36% belong to mental health.
Mentioned the above we can say that the great challenges for the safety of workers involve emphasizing psychosocial risks and mental health care. This related to rhythms and loads according to the type of work. The World Commission made an important recommendation presented in its report in January 2019 so that safety and health at work is recognized as a primary right of freedom of association and right of collective bargaining to eliminate forced labor, non -workInfant and elimination of discrimination. Finally, the given recommendation is related that the safety and health of the workers is recognized as a fundamental principle and right.
