Risks we face within the legalization of drugs

Introduction

What are the risks we would face with the legalization of drugs? Drugs have been cataloged as soft and hard, when talking about legalizing they only talk about soft, specifically marijuana, but there are certainly several risk factors to this possibility, since it is a much larger problem thanthink. It is estimated that in the last year 12 million people have consumed marijuana in the European Union. I am against legalization, I will analyze what the risks to health and society could be.

Developing

The health risks for the consumption of marijuana are many and in practically all the systems that make up our body. For example, the first thing we can mention are the damage to the respiratory system: these are caused by the smoke of the joints, since they contain carcinogenic compounds and more tar than tobacco, so they can cause lung and bronchial diseaseDyspnea and even COPD. Damages to the cardiovascular system include tachycardia, a sensation of vertigo and obnubilation caused by slow blood flow to the brain. The endocrine system affects the hormonal level; In the case of men with a greater risk of impotence and in the case of women decreasing the amount of ovules, and causing menstrual irregularities. Damage to the central nervous system are very varied and not always easy to measure these include euphoria, increase in the perception of reality, difficulty of concentration, deterioration of memory and affect all learning areas such as association processes,Psychomotor performance, memory, reading comprehension, abstraction capacity and alters socialization mechanisms. As we can see the use of marijuana is harmful to health so I do not understand how it is classified as a soft drug.

Another very interesting aspect in the analysis of the damage produced by drug use are psychological damage. Consumers easily present antisocial behavior, depression, high -risk sexual behaviors, negative social attitudes, low academic motivation or school dropout. Each of these aspects has many ramifications that lead us to more problems and situations of difficult handling and that each separately could complicate until they lead to legal problems such as detention and/or imprisonment.

The company has sought to legalize drugs to try to reduce security problems, avoiding clashes between producers, distributors and police, but the review of legalization in other countries makes us reflect that it is not necessarily the solution they are looking for and that the damagemainly young people is very high because consumption interferes directly with health, with social interaction and with the healthy development of society.

conclusion

When analyzing the damage that drug uses brings to society and see that in the case of health the damage is irreparable, I reiterate my thesis there is no gain for society with the legalization of drugs and as a society we would face new problems such asAttending with public resources such addictions.

My personal reflection is that the legal, material and time resources used in discussions on the subject, are used in the education of our children and young people because education and attention to them in a timely way is the most direct and safe way formove them away from addictions.
