For me the incredible and sad story of the candid Eréndira and her heartless grandmother written in 1978, is an excellent book to start reading Gabriel García Márquez novels, because it is not a very long book and also has in favor that it does not use so many wordscolloquials of the region as it usually does in books known as the leaf litter, this makes it an easy understanding and rapid reading.
