With the emergence of this beast, the conflict between Jack and Ralph increases, since they have very contrary opinions about what they should do to survive on the island and Jack and the hunters decide to separate from the group and leave on their own to hunt and live without laws. These manage to hunt another wild boar (female that was breastfeeding their pigs, which shows us the little empathy they have) and leave the head of the wild boar stuck in a spicy as an offering to the beast to be left alone. The hunters invite the other group to a feast and they access to go because they are hungry, they begin a dance around the fire because they think that they will do well and because they will be safe from the beast and end up killing Simon that it isDraged sea inside by the currents. Most children join the hunters and only Ralph, Piggy and Samyeric. A few days later the group of hunters steals the glasses to Piggy because they have no fire and when the others are going to ask them to return their glasses, kidnap Samyeric and Roger end up murdering Piggy by hitting him on the head and Samyeric joinsTo them because they are afraid of Jack, Ralph have to flee and in the end the hunters end up burning the island to find and kill him and in the end they are rescued by the Navy.
The book is full of symbolisms, and only the title "The Lord of the Flies" refers to Belcebú, the lord of rot and darkness, which was used to make fun of the baal that left meat in the temples and it ended up rotting, as the savages do when leaving the beast’s wild boar.
The beast is also symbolic, it begins being a nightmare that the kids have, then it becomes a snake, a monster that leaves the sea, a paratrooper … Simon is the only one who gives the option that the beast is themselves. It is a fear of something we do not know.
We can observe how the differentiation between the groups address the situation of the beast of different ways. Ralph’s group from a rational point of view, trying to convince them that the beast is not real and that they do not have to worry while Jack through a series of offerings, rituals and dances think that the beast will leave them alone.
The story is set at the time of World War II, so it could also be related to the protagonists of history as a representation of the two great powers in war, Jack and Roger would represent Nazi Germany, with their authoritarianism based on theFear and violence, which we can see in a part of the book in which he is whipping someone without any reason, or in the murder of a sow that is breastfeeding his piglets. While Ralph would represent England, pacifist and rational that democracy shows and that he thinks that the savages are not so bad even when they are looking to kill him at the end of the work, as towards England with Germany who thought that Germany was not so badAnd they accepted their peace treaties so as not to enter a war conflict with them, as at the Munich Conference of 1939 where they allowed Germany to invade Czechoslovakia.
Golding wants to show us the evil that we all carry inside and capable that we are to hurt and harm, when the conditions we are living push us to it. None of the children are totally good on the island, all are cruel at some point, from the beginning we can see how everyone gets into Piggy,
