The word psychology comes from the psycho or psykhé Greek, which means soul, psyche or mental activity and lodge that means study or treated, so together it is the study of the psyche.Psychology studies the behavior and mental processes of individuals, saying this we not only talk about what it does but also about their thoughts, emotions, perceptions, reasoning, memories and also of the biological activities that the human body operates andA psychologist is responsible for predicting, describing and explaining these processes through scientific methods beyond speculation or intuition. 

The general objectives of psychology can be summarized in the understanding of the processes of the human being. In this they have numerous approaches and methodologies, each with their specific objectives, with their specific approaches of what consciousness, thought and learning are. This helps us to help and guide people who are, both through very difficult and problematic situations in their life, and to help those who, without having any particular problems, have to face, like everyone else, to daily lifeWith their concerns, small conflicts, challenges, emotions management, relationships.

We can talk about the roots of psychology by going back to the ancient Greeks, who considered that the mind was a topic for reflection. Subsequently the philosophers discussed for years with questions that psychologists currently deal, his thoughts contrasted with those of Plato and the French philosopher Rene Descartes who argued that certain knowledge was innate for human beings.

Psychology is just over 100 years as an autonomous discipline.   • Educational Psychology: This is in charge of teaching and learning processes.
  • Environmental Psychology: Consider the relationship of people with their physical environment.
  • Evolutionary Psychology: Consider the importance of genetic inheritance in behavior.
  • Experimental Psychology: Study the processes of sensation, perception, learning and thought about the world.

  • SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY: It is dedicated to guiding children of basic education with emotional or academic problems.
  • Social Psychology: Study the influence of people’s thoughts, feelings or actions in others.
  • Sports Psychology: Psychology applies to an athletic activity and exercise.

  • Psychoanalysis: Refers to the analytical psychology developed by the Austrian doctor and neurologist Sigmund Freud (1856-1939).
  • Behaviorism: current dedicated to the analysis of human behavior based on Pavlov’s contributions.
  • Driving psychology or cognitivism: current dedicated to the study of cognition or knowledge acquisition processes. Driven by Jerome Bruner and George Miller.

 

Education and psychology have marched hand in hand since the invention of the latter, since it has been much better to understand how learning processes are given, formulate theories about it and try to build educational institutions that solve the problems of societyhuman.
