Personal essay on the faun labyrinth

In my opinion, Ofelia if you change throughout the movie. This change shows during the film from what it is at the beginning to the end and how it relates to other characters during your transition journey. It also looks how it changes while doing the three tests, which define how their character is at the end of the film.

At the beginning of the film, the fauno labyrinth, Guillermo del Toro shows us Ophelia as a little girl next to her mother reading a fairy tale. We see her as a girl who has not yet matured by the way her mother speaks, telling her that "you are already very old to fill your head with so many zarandajas’. But during his journey to El Molino, he also leaves the car and moves away from his mother’s safety to the forest, showing us his independence. On the other hand, when he meets Vidal for the first time he is a fragile girl again and scared with the way Vidal grabs his hand. Discreetly disobeying his mother, or opening his mouth to Vidal, much less calling him potato. Later he expresses his lack of respect for Vidal, confirming Carmen that ‘the captain is not my father’ but his father was a tailor. This comment that Ofelia makes us that he is not afraid to express his thoughts with people he trusts, who is reinforced when he tells Carmen about the faun.

His relationship with other characters shows us how Ophelia’s character evolves. At the beginning of knowing the faun, Ofelia is afraid of her way of acting more with her nightgown. However, his way of speaking and his facial expressions shows us a curious and excited girl to be seeing a character from the fantastic world. Knowing Fauno Ofelia more begins to relax around him, so he treats him like any other adult. She begins to disobey it, for example when you eat the grapes of the pale man’s table although the faun had told her not to eat anything. This boundary endangered. Ofelia learned from this error being afraid that it would be endangered by another error, so the maturity is seen in the form that processes the events that pass around it. However, he continues to disobey when he does not give his younger brother because she does not believe that this is the right thing, sacrificing herself instead of an innocent. This scene also shows us its maturity for the actions it takes to save others. This is a very important moment because we see the entire evolution of the character of Ofelia arriving at the point of putting the security of others in front of hers. Although Ofelia is the most less than the whole film, in my opinion she has an old soul for being the princess of many years ago giving her the knowledge of an adult instead of the mentality of an irresponsible girl.

In my opinion, the three tests help you mature during the movie. As mentioned before, she rejected the solizitude of the faun asking her little brother, disobeying her orders. This was the last test that she spent to be able to open the portal watering her blood instead of the blood of an innocent. The other test that also happened was when he put the three amber seeds in the toad stomach inside the tree. This test shows us the character of Ophelia closer at the beginning of the film. To this point Ofelia still obey the fauno above the adults of the real world. For example to obey El Faun.
