The main objective of the book is the story of personal experiences, narrated by a psychiatrist who is admitted to a Nazi concentration camp during World War II and in which his main idea is to look for meaning to life, highlighting events that occurred withinThat concentration camp. The life for the inmates was very hard, they had a very limited food compared to the guards, since they had privileges and were not brutally beaten as the prisoners, they were constant duels to obtain a piece of bread, to stay alive and comply with theassigned tasks or for saving a friend.

In the concentration camp, the sick, the weakest, those prisoners who could not comply with the assigned tasks were selected and were taken to the gas chamber in central fields during World War II to execute them.

Those prisoners who entered the concentration camp resulted in a shock phase because they questioned that it was going to happen with them having the worst in mind, they received the welcome of prisoners who appeared to be well fed and have good physical conditions. This created an illusion in the newly arrived prisoners and made them believe that their days were not told and that they became an idea that what they were going to live there was not going to be so difficult. Something totally false, since these prisoners with good physical conditions were characters that are part of the welcome committee and created those false hopes in those who just arrived. The newly arrived prisoners were stripped of all their belongings, since the field authorities were only interestedWomen with forced labor, so much was the suffering that these inmates lived that several had suicidal thoughts and planned to launch against the fence in order not to have that experience anymore.
