Novel: from realism to narration

Introduction

The Spanish -American novel, from realism to narration. This essay aims to present a part of the evolution of the literature of a century ago, the passage of the realistic novel to the narrative novel. To begin with, Spanish -American literature is thus called by its origin, texts of Spanish -speaking peoples, written in the Spanish language. Especially those that were published in the twentieth century, but Hispano -American literature had a transformation in terms of form, gender, subject and interpretation of facts.

Developing

So the problem to be raised is what was the transformation of Latin American literature? For the development of this issue, two stages of Latin American literature are considered;First, the nineteenth -century Hispanic -American realistic novel in its attempt to convey a realistic figure focuses its attention on the daily life of that time, nature, social problems, and especially in indigenous life; His living conditions at the mercy of the conquerors.

The writings of this first stage revolve around the human adventure, of the surrounding nature and its diversity. Stories that include costumbrismo, rural environment, social injustice and the constant struggle of man with nature. “They also have a relationship with contemporary reality, focused on the limit episodes of the struggle for independence, the violence of civil wars, proscription, barbarian despotism of the dictatorship.’

This is how a strong cultural movement, the Indian’s novel, marks the works of some writers such as Jorge Icaza with Huasipungo;History that presents the condition of the Indians under the Spanish yoke, or the world is wide and foreign of the Peruvian writer Ciro Alegría. At the end of the time the stories begin to have contact with romanticism, overlapping the realistic tendency, the Cumandá work of Juan León Mera highlights. Second, the new Spanish -American narrative.

In a century in which the world was constantly changing, the Renaissance was the starting point for the evolution of the literature of that time with the development of a renovating prose and the desire to raise Latin American identity. "The twentieth century is the century in which the literature of Hispanic America presents its maximum flowering, finally finding international recognition as an original entity" Bellini. In the well -known "Golden Age", the name of authors such as Jorge Luis Borges, and Juan Rulfo with Pedro Páramo.

From 1940, a tiredness is observed by the realistic novel that, as mentioned in the guide text, its renewal and enrichment is necessary, this results in what is known as the “boom” of the Spanish -American narrative. It is a period of maturity of colonial literature, when the sensitivity when writing is beginning to be considered. The novels are involved with new resources with the integration of the fantastic and the real (fantastic realism).

"This last denomination is due to Alejo Carpentier, for whom pure realism is unable to collect the amazing and unusual reality of the American world.". "The new novel seeks a new language, new themes, new techniques and new approaches and achieves one of the most surprising literary phenomena of our time" Correa. Among the writers of these novels are Miguel Ángel Asturias with the president, Julio Cortázar with -Rayuela, Mario Vargas Llosa with the city of dogs, and Gabriel García Márquez with his famous novel one hundred years of Soledad.

conclusion

To conclude, the Spanish -American realistic novel exhibits the origin of a people, a raw interpretation of what has lived by the Indians, violence and injustice with which they were treated but also of their way of life, courage and courage. However, over time those stories had a touch of innovation by novelists interested in the fantastic, mythical and legendary giving realism a new narrative in terms of variety of argument and characters.
