Laura Esquivel is a Mexican writer was born in 1950. His work as water for chocolate published in 1989 gives enormous popularity at the beginning of his career. This work won so popularity that it was turned into a film in 1994. It was more successful ever released in the United States. His focus point in which children, movies, stories and novels were written.

Laura Esquivel discovered her vocation as a writer in the 1970s when she taught Kindergarten, where she enjoyed writing plays for her young students. The work adapted to his academic training, since he studied education and theater with a special approach to children’s theater. Later, he took a kind of script writing, an experience that would have a dramatic impact on his life.

 His teacher, Alfonso Arau, had experience as director and actor, and is known by the American public for his eccentric and stereotyped roles as comic villains and a Colombian drug trafficker lover of fun in Hollywood films such as Romance the Stone and The Three. The story is narrated in 12 chapters and there is a recipe that begins after each chapter. Each chapter acts as an episode through which the events in history are related. Tita de la Garza being the youngest of the family is tied by her mother Elena who does not want her to marry due to her family restrictions.

 This young woman meets another young Pedro Muzquiz and they both fall in love. Pedro when he arrives at Tita’s family for asking her daughter to marry him, he does not approve him. This is the point in history where a chain of events begins and in the thing leads to another. Pedro decides to marry the eldest daughter and both have a child who is careful for Aunt Tita as her own son. The jealous mother forces Pedro and older sister Rosaura to live far and this caused the death of her son Roberto. 

The death of her nephew makes Tita have a collapse, and Mom Elena sends her to an asylum. The doctor. John Brown, an American local doctor, is committed to Tita and takes her to live at home. He carefully takes care of Tita to health, taking care of his physical ailments and trying to revive his broken spirit. After some time, Tita is almost good, and she never decides to return to the ranch. As soon as this choice has made that Mama Elena is injured in an incursion of rebel soldiers, forcing Tita to return. Tita hopes to take care of her mother, but Mom Elena bitterly rejects Tita’s good will.

 She rejects Tita’s kitchen, claiming she is poisoned. Not long after, Mom Elena is found dead by an overdose of an east strong that consumed for fear of poisoning. The story then continues as the redemption of a person can affect the other, how the bad doing a person can affect the other person. The novel ‘As Agua For Chocolate’ is written during the time of the Mexican Revolution. Portrays the essential components of love, traditions, power and redemption. It compares with the Mexican revolution of that time and the exploitation powers of the people. But most importantly, history is a great example of how redemption works for most people. 

conclusion

Through magical realism, the writer Laura Esquivel presents the story of two lovers who are tied by family traditions and are unable to find the love they are looking for in their lives. Tita and Pedro are two lovers who are in love, but due to the family traditions of Tina, she being the youngest daughter is forced to serve her mother during her old age without marrying. This is very painful for both the couple and the protagonist. Tita suffers the cruelty of her mother. 

All this through a series of events turns out to be a happy ending for the protagonist while obtaining her redemption, her true love for herself and all those who are creating suffering from others obtain unfavorable conclusions for themselves. Tita’s mother places her in the family tradition of serving her mother until old age without marrying. It is replaced by the cook Nacha, and all the family recipes are given to cook. Now in the Garza family, the ancestors are remembered keeping their cooking recipe alive and Tita finds the kitchen as a way of expressing their pain and suffering.
