As the largest city in the United States and the center of the universe, thousands of enthusiastic people travel to the big city as to make their dreams come true. For most of them, the first days are fantastic especially when they make new friends, they party from sunset to dawn, and travel from Brooklyn to Staten Island. However, things begin to fall apart when they meet the dark side of the city. Poverty is a significant challenge in the city of New York, and it closes the doors of most of the enthusiastic and innocent people. For newcomers, the abject poverty that embezzles the city becomes evident when they realize that they cannot get rid the dead weight in their friend's apartment., never have money or food for days, and rashes begin to attack their legs, yet they do not have health insurance. New York City constitutes of five boroughs each with a different social-economic and political environment. Some of the boroughs including Brooklyn are well developed with low poverty levels. However, some of the communities living in boroughs such as Bronx are victims of the poverty that arises from the severe financial crisis, discrimination, limited resources to develop a stable economic foundation, and crime. When the unfavorable economic conditions are coupled with the large and continuously widening gap between the rich and the poor, the poverty levels increase to a state that leaves the common New York
