Michelangelo Bonarroti and his works

Introduction

Michelangelo Bonarroti or better known as Miguel Ángel, was born in Italy-Roma in 1475 was a sculptor, painter, architect and even a poet. He made all his career in Florence for the great audience he had thanks to the patron, who were the ones who sponsored him in all his works, because it was the Medici family who had enough money to cover the expenses in his works, Michelangelo was soWell, so that at the time who was supported or diciously sponsored by the Medici family (patron), he would gain great reputation to his works, it was then that such support motivated Miguel Ángel to stay in Florence. Miguel Ángel was so admired that they began to call him "the divine", because it was the rebirth in person.

Apart from being sponsored by patron, Miguel Ángel was always characterized by his perfectionism so his works always triumphed. From an early age, he always showed the gift he had in the sculpture, that his father, although he did not support it at first, enrolled him in the Guirlandio workshop where Miguel Ángel would learn and charge for all the work he did in said workshop.

After a while, Miguel Ángel was admired by Lorenzo the Magnificcareer in which I was capturing them in their works. But not everything was happiness in their work and learning, since other apprentice painters envied him and promised to destroy his works as long as he did not stand out. But it was soon that Miguel Ángel would travel to Rome to start his career, city that saw how little by little he was triumphing.

At the age of twelve, Michelangelo already creates his first work entitled "The Torment of San Antonio" that was a copy of Martin Schongauer’s work;whose work says it was based on fantastic creatures represented as small demons, who were represented as lust, temptations and confused feelings that at that time was prohibited by the Church; And San Antonio is represented by meditating and fighting in the desert with those demons.

After learning to sculpt works with Jacopo Della Quercia, it was after a decade in Rome where Miguel Ángel with thirty years considered a frontline artist, sculpted the "mercy of the Vatican" work that was commissioned by the cardinal of Saint Denis, inWhere the death of Jesus can be reflected, next to the beauty and tenderness of a mother towards her son in her arms, Mary so young, because the beauty in the Renaissance was represented, together with Jesus, who was the representation of the Church. Michelangelo in this work would receive the payment of 450 gold ducats, because I finish it early, and in which the sculpture is today in the Basilica of San Pedro.

A year later the Opera del Duomo, an institution in charge of the sacred goods, raised the construction of sculptures that have to do with the Old Testament where they would be reflected in the Cathedral of Santa Maria de Fiore in Florence, it was then the ideato create a David, where the marble that was used to be used would be extracted from the Fantiscritti quarry where it would be transported to Florence by the Mediterranean Sea. The marble in which Miguel Ángel was going to work would be one used and abandoned by Simone da Fiesole, who had damaged marble for not knowing how to sculpt. Then Miguel Ángel took the challenge of doing a David, which took three years of his career, at the end of the sculpture, David would take four days to be transferred to the cathedral, because he was only mobilized at night, to avoid the greatcity traffic.  Piero Soderini was amazed at the work of Michelangel. One of the stories that is told, is that Michelangelo did not want to pay the work completely, because they said that David’s hands and feet were very large, and that the nose of such was a bit robust, Miguel Ángel wasSo proud that at that time I took a piece of marble from the floor, climbed on his ladder and began to chop the marble he had collected from the floor, because he knew that the authorities do not know anything about sculpture and marble, then the authorities to the authoritiesSeeing that marble remains were impacted, it was when Miguel Ángel got off and said: "Ready is already corrected", the authorities applauded him and paid him completely the work done that was and is very admired by religion. The curious thing is, because Miguel Ángel towards his works with the nose so robust, and it is said that when he was little, Torrigian Pietro of so jealous that he was of him, leaving the Hacienda de los Medici, grabbed him and broke his nose, it was then that Michelangelo who takes that idea of putting his nose like this in his works.

In the year of 1505, Pope Julio Segundo, I assign him to perform a grave, but in the same period, the confidence towards Buonarroti was so great, which would be given a long and arduous job, decorate the Sistine Chapel.

At thirty -three, Miguel Ángel took the responsibility of directing the decoration of the Boveda of the Sistine Chapel, with whom it is assumed that Miguel Ángel would have help and a very affectionate relationship with Cecchino Dei Bracci and Giovanni da Pistoia, which whatI conclude at four years, in those frescoes you could observe the interpretation of Genesis, stage in which man would be created. Finally, after the death of Bramante and Rafael de Sanzio, Miguel would take total confidence of Pope Julio Segundo. In the same year Michelangelo Bonarroti, plasm in a fresco of the vault, one of the nine episodes of Genesis where he writes the creation of Adam, you can see an naked Adam already on earth, next to God in the sky surrounded byQuerubines, Adam created in image and likeness as written in the Bible, next to God dressed in a white robe and a beard that is represented as a great authority, with the hands of both raising the index finger representing the love and faithfulness of GodTo man, it is one of the most recognized works by art and the world. But the most curious thing is that together with the fresco of "Adam’s creation" you can find another work by Miguel Ángel entitled "The creation of Eva", however, being a good work, it is not as acclaimed as that of Adam, Adam’s,In the fresco you can see a sleeping Adam, WingIt can be alone on earth.

In the Bible it can be written that Adam and Eve are in the garden of Eden, where they can enjoy everything in it, but God warns that they cannot take the fruit of a tree that is in the middle of the garden, according to religion, it is said that God put that tree there by free will.

Miguel Ángel did not like to be bothered while working, and became ill.You can also observe what was the expulsion of Adam and Eva from the garden of Eden, as seen in the fresco in parts, this Adam and Eve next to the tree that would be forbidden to take the fruit next to a snake who would be the one that deals withTo convince that they take from such, while the side of the fresco can be seen the consequence that this act brought, a little more adult can be observed threatened by an angel, a ruined, and aged eva, who as written in theBible, would suffer for their actions, so Miguel Ángel was what tried to capture that suffering in the face of both. Although more than fruit, Miguel Ángel Sabia was the carnal desire that took sin to the world, Miguel at that time, was considered the world’s most great painter.

With thirty -eight years, Miguel Ángel would resume the position given to create the grave for Julio SecondThree -story grave as he had offered the Pope, over time he only met two of the twenty statues, and one of them is “El Moses”, Miguel Ángel would reflect the complicated runoff he had done in the Sistine Chapel, where he can seeto a muscular sitting after returning from Mount Sinai, and in the head two horns, since by a bad translation they had to be two beams of light.

Twenty -nine years after finishing the vault, it would reveal in a wall one of the most terrifying works of those times "the final judgment", you can see four hundred baked bodies with Christ the Son of God in the middle, Christ leading to heaven to heavenBlessed and hell to all the convicted, this picture has the apocalyptic chapter of the Bible;Such fresco was considered scandalous that it is even said that he was accused of heresy, because it was the time where all those who believed in the word would be burned, in the fresco you can also observe Mary Mother of Jesus, scared by anger and powerof his son, as he can, people with suffering trying to reach heaven, the most acclaimed is the feet that are on Christ, because it is estimated that it is God who is sitting as the Almighty who is. At the bottom, where it is seen that all those who will go to hell, Miguel Ángel tries to demonstrate that hell means death, because a crucified person can also be observed, who can be said that it is Jesus.

In the fresco you can also observe the face of Michelangelo in an overflowing body, as meaning of the long and tired work that always had, because Miguel Ángel never had peace, since it was always required too much.

Miguel Ángel in his final stage, had architecture projects, which was his latest work, who would culminate with the responsibility of building the Basilica of San Pedro.

Already old at his almost ninety years, Michelangelo Bonarroti told himself that his life was a failure, since he always considered that things could be better than he did, his arrogance and perfectionism led him to be considered oneOf the best recognized artists in the world. Today, his works can be found in the city of Florence and Rome, who is visited by thousands of tourists in the world, being a great reference of the arts.
