Mesopotamian and Hebrew law codes

Introduction

Mesopotamian and Hebrew codes and laws are a set of rules imposed to have control over humanity. Starting with the Mesopotamian codes we can find the Hammurabi Code and the Shulgi Code. The Hammurabi code is a stone written code decreed by King Hammurabi of the Babylonian Empire. In this code who committed a crime was sanctioned with a punishment similar to the damage caused or death. In addition, it is known as the first Civil Code of the History of Humanity. 

Introduction

The Shulgi Code which was created by King Neosumerio Ur-Nammu. Like the Hammurabi code this was written in stone. This is known as the first legal code. In addition, in this code people were punished with death or regret mines of silver. As for the Hebrew laws we find the 10 commandments of Jehovah’s law. The 10 commandments of Jehovah’s law are religious. These were delivered to Moses by Jehovah on Mount Sinai after Moses released the Hebrews from Egypt.

In addition, these commandments are written in two stone boards. These are considered by believers as a guide to get to heaven. Comparing laws and codes we can find both similarities and differences. Among the similarities of the Hammurabi Code and the Shulgi code we find that the two are decreed by kings, are Mesopotamian codes, both were written to. C. And among their punishments is death. Among the similarities of the Hammurabi Code and the Shulgi Code with the 10 commandments of Jehovah’s Law.

They are found that the three are written in stone and, like the codes, the commandments were written AC, unlike the Mesopotamian codes, the 10 commandments of Jehovah’s law were created by God, they are Hebrews, they are religious and remain in forcenowadays. To carry out the analogy between the old laws with the laws we will now begin with the similarities of the Hammurabi Code and the current laws in Puerto Rico. Among the similarities we can find is that in both laws are divided by groups.

Puerto Rico’s legal system as well as the Hammurabi Code has laws for offenses against a person, against property, related sexual offenses among many more. We continue with the Shulgi Code which keeps similarity to current laws in Puerto Rico, both have judges and testimony under oath. Referring to the 10 commandments of Jehovah’s Law, in Puerto Rico, believers are still in force. 

In conclusion, the Mesopotamian and Hebrew codes influenced and had great value in the laws currently giving way and guide so that today we have codes and laws. If there were no codes or laws there would be no way to control humanity. Mesopotamian codes helped greatly formulate codes. Continuing with the 10 commandments of the law of Jehovah which have great value for believers that as we mentioned before keep them in force.
