Mental Psychopathy Disorder
It is a mental disorder, especially that characterized by an alteration of character or social behavior and does not entail any intellectual abnormality. The individual has neurological anomalies, mainly in the frontal lobe of the brain, their perceptual and mental functions alter the behavior of the individual.
The concept of psychopathy could not be clearly defined previously, it was actually in 1991 when a more widely acceptable psychopathy description was established by Robert Hare. Of the first conceptualizations used in the sphere of clinical diagnosis came from psychiatrist Pinel, he defined psychopathy as "mania without delirium", configuring as "apparently normal actions, but with strange attacks of anger without being linked to feelings of guilt". On the other hand, Pritchard contributed to the term in a negative and designation of the psychopath as “morally insane“ referring to people with their deteriorated self-control, unable to reason of some subject.
The Pritchard term served until 1888, in which Koch, a German doctor, decided The Pritchard term had caused controversy in the religious sphere as adverse objections and opinions.
Benjamín Karpman, was responsible for classifying psychopaths into two types: primary and secondary. Primary will be emotionally stable, superficial, sentimentally insensitive and they would strive to appear a good physical presence. Secondary psychopaths, however, would be people who suffer from a neurotic, emotional disorder or anxiety, and denote a remarkable irritability and reactive aggressiveness. The latter would also present a child abuse history, although not in a necessary or relevant way. An important note of this author is that both psychopaths would behave a bit similar, but only one of them, the secondary psychopath, would be susceptible to treatment.
Cleckley assigned a series of significant features in the sphere of psychopathy, some of which shared with others previously designated by Gray and Hutchinson. Likewise, it was understood that the main symptom of psychopathy was the poor affective response towards others.
In 1991, from the clinical profile designed by Cleckley, Robert Hare proposes a new classification based on 20 items in its revised form and the Psychopathy Checklist-Review flame (or evolution scale of the psychopathy reviewed in Spanish) becoming today,In the description of the most used psychopathy.
This classification was published in 1991 and later in 2003 it was reviewed again, thus obtaining the final version. It contains subsets that relate to each other, but with notable differences (factors), the first factor refers to the interpersonal-affective field, which are divided into two facets: interpersonal and affective;The second factor refers to the associal lifestyle, which can be divided in turn into impulsive-irresponsible lifestyle, and associal behavior.
