Name Instructor Course Date Barriers to progressive sustainability view Environmental pollution is one of the barriers that need to be overcome to move a mainstream business to a progressive sustainability view. The increase of uncontrolled industrial activities has led to pollution of the business environment with harmful substances such as carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, sulfur oxides, and depletion of the ozone layer (Larsen, pg. 13). Environmental pollution prevents the business from practicing sustainability in its operations since most of the factors required to do so have been affected by the pollution. This is a barrier that needs to be addressed quickly to sustainability practice within businesses. Financial constrains is another barrier that has made it hard to achieve sustainability in business. Financial aid plays a great role in financing the activities involved that ensure the success of sustainability (Larson et al.). If a business lack financial aid, it will not be able to apply the various sustainability measures required. Many companies have started sustainability programs but end up on halfway since the money, which was used to finance the programs is no longer, and this calls for an end of the program. As a leader, you need to make a sound decision and the best one that fit the problem at hand. In this case, to deal with the barrier of environmental pollution, I will design a pollution control that focuses of treating the waste before disposal and also filtering the emissions from the industries (SHARMA, 1). I will ensure that these strategies do not affect the quality of the products, not to compromise on the side of the customers. The
