Invasive increase in corruption in Latin America
One of the international corruption measurement indices called International Transparency CPI in 2018 in its results places Mexico in the 138th place in 168 countries and with a qualification of 28 points of 100 possible (image 1), where The closest to zero score indicates that the country is highly corrupt and 100 that is a highly clean country (Transparency International, Corruption Perceptions Index). Comparing the data with the year 2015, Mexico was positioned in the 95th place and with 31 points (Table 1), that is, it has lost 3 points, indicating that the perception of corruption has increased in the last 3 years internationally.
This score affects Mexico in the sense that it can become a decisive factor in trying to attract foreign investment, because compared to other Latin American countries, Mexico shows a low performance in the fight against corruption, in addition to being found A points above countries such as Nicaragua and Guatemala, and below countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Colombia, etc. This index in addition to the fact that it allows each country to be located at the level of perception of corruption year after year, also indicates the progress or decline in the actions to combat it, in the case of Mexico it has retreated either the shares have not worked.
