Importance of Florence Nightingale and others in the Nursing
Introduction
In this document I will be exposing about four important people in the history of nursing and health. I will be providing part of your biographies and contributions to nursing in terms of critical care. The important people who will be presenting the aforementioned information are Florence Nightingale, Peter J. Safar, William H. Welch and Carlos Jiménez Diaz. Finally I will make a conclusion where the aforementioned will be summarized and it will also be relevant to this information for nursing professionals.
Developing
Florence Nightingale was born on May 12, 1820 in Italy. She was a British nurse, writer and statistics. It is considered a precursor to modern nursing and founder of the first conceptual nursing model. I reject a comfortable social life in order to seek a professional qualification that would allow it to be efficient for humanity. He began studying nursing from 1844 when his father decided to pay for a better education for his daughter. Peter J. Safar was born on April 12, 1924, in Vienna. His parents were doctors Karl was an ophthalmologist and his mother Vianca was a pediatrician. Henry Welch created the first physiological and pathological laboratory with the aim of obtaining the reasons why a patient obtained a disease or death. His contribution in medicine was to identify by laboratories the origin or cause therefore to know because patients presented some disease or condition. Welch’s work was fundamental to initiate the era of quality research and education that led it to significantly improve the levels and standards of medicine in the United States (Galenus Magazine 2019).
Carlos Jiménez Díaz was a Spanish doctor was born on February 10, 1898 in Madrid. He was raised in a humble family. Jiménez course his studies in Madrid obtaining the Doctorate in Medicine in 1919 or at 21 years of age. Then he specializes in basic medical sciences, achieving a solid basis in anatomopathological, chemical and experimental. He was a member of the Foundation of the International Society of Internal Medicine. In 1948 the edition of the medical problems suffered by patients such as allergies, asthma, hypertension and renal pathologies began. In their workplace the first kidney and open heart transplants were performed. His contribution to the nursing was to start a blood bank and the first intensive room.
conclusion
In conclusion, knowing the facts of the history of these four important people helps us to define what is nursing with research methods in their evolution with the passing of time. It helps us to describe the human act of us the nurses that we help in the care of human beings.
The knowledge of the historical stage in nursing represents a key piece and a motivation in the formation of new generations. Every thing they discovered is of the utmost importance for our daily living.
